East Coast

Waves are looking small to flat for the weekend in Wicklow with only waves up to 1ft on Saturday from a small wind swell with Sunday looking smaller again.

South Coast

Tramore should have light to moderate onshore 2ft waves on Saturday with a small period so only really good for longboards or foamies with the winds turning cross shore by evening. Sunday looks smaller with 1ft probably the max for the day with light to moderate cross shore winds turning cross offshore by evening but by then the swell will be less than 1ft.

South West

Winds look much stronger down in Garretstown with onshore winds looking to be gusting in excess of 20mph early all day Saturday with waves in the 2ft region blown over so only really good for lessons. Sunday has the winds drop slightly but still nearly 20mph onshore but the swell looks a little bigger in the 2-3ft range blown over. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing a much bigger swell than the south coast with waves in the 5-6ft range but with onshore winds over 20mph on the gusts for both Saturday and Sunday with Sunday’s swell looking smaller as it’s coming from the north but still hitting in the 3-4ft size but the winds look to make things messy.

West Coast

Conditions for Lahinch are looking similar to most spots with the westerly winds messing up the conditions with onshores in the 17-25mph range from the south west Saturday and north west Sunday with waves on Saturday in the 3-4ft range blown over with Sunday looking smaller in the 2-3ft blown over white water. Tides are high at 2.30 Saturday and 3.30 Sunday but both days have small high tides meaning just over an hour out of the water for safe access and exit.

North West

Strandhill does not escape the onshore winds with Saturday showing 15-25mph winds with waves in the 3ft range depending on the tides but the winds should blow the power out of the waves but ok for those keen. Sunday sees the winds turn more northerly meaning worse onshore for Strandhill with 3-4ft blown over waves. In the Bundoran area, Tullan will be a mess all weekend with Rossnowlagh the only option for white water waves on both days with Saturday showing 3ft waves in Rossy with onshore winds and similar for Sunday but with more cross shore winds on Sunday and possibly a little smaller in the size. Quick note that Rossnowlagh will be out of bounds this weekend due to the annual pre-12th July marches that take place on the beach making nearly all car parks out of bounds and inaccessible. North Coast

In Portrush it is looking like the conditions will be 2ft cross offshore winds at the Arcadia end of East Strand on Saturday with the better conditions being earlier in the morning as while the swell picks up a bit later, the winds also go more cross shore making it a little messier. Sunday sees the winds turn more north westerly making for messy onshore conditions with 2ft blown over messy waves.

East Coast

Saturday morning starts off with the best chance of a wave in Wicklow over the weekend but you would want to be early with 1ft waves for foamies on offer with this dropping throughout the day and the winds will drop to light breezes by afternoon offering good SUP conditions. Sunday sees flat windy conditions from the south but no waves.

South Coast

It is onshore conditions for the weekend in Tramore with south westerly winds all weekend with 2ft waves blown over on both Saturday and Sunday with winds gusting up to 20mph at times but good for kids or foamies.

South West

Unfortunately it is onshore conditions for Garretstown all weekend also with the south west winds making for onshore conditions at a lot of spots this weekend. Waves should be in the 3ft blown over Saturday and 2ft blown over Sunday. Inch Beach in Kerry starts off with onshore conditions for Saturday morning up to 15mph making for some messy conditions but this onshore wind looks to drop off in the afternoon to evening to bring some nicer conditions with 4-5ft waves with an onshore bump but still rideable with winds up to 10mph onshore. Sunday sees the winds pick up again to over 20mph with bumpy cross shore conditions in the 5ft range but Saturday afternoon and evening could have the best conditions for Inch.

West Coast starts onshore for Saturday morning with gusts up to 20mph which drop off later in the day meaning the conditions on Saturday afternoon into evening could be onshore but lighter onshore with 3-4ft conditions blown over earlier with 5ft conditions later on with a bump but possibly still good as the period picks up from 9 seconds earlier in the day to 12 seconds by later afternoon and evening. Sunday starts off light very early but the gusts look to build to then become bumpy cross shore by mid morning with 3-5ft conditions bumpy for the day. Tides are high at 8am and pm Saturday and 8.30am and closer to 9pm Sunday.

North West

Strandhill is looking onshore all day Saturday with only 2ft blown over on offer with Sunday looking a little more promising with 3-4ft with the possibility of bigger on sets with light cross offshore winds all day until evening when its just cross shore. In the Bundoran area it’s a similar story with onshore conditions all day Saturday in the near 20mph range with 2-3ft messy conditions all day. This will turn to offshore Sunday morning with 4ft+ conditions which should be good first thing but these winds will pick up and change direction to cross shore by midday and cross onshore by late afternoon so get on it early but Sunday is definitely the better choice of the two days.

North Coast

Conditions around the Port are showing 2ft blown cross shore with gusts nearing 20mph for East Strand and blowing from the west which means that West Strand will be blown out messy. Sunday sees the winds turn southerly and the swell pick up nicely with 2-4ft conditions from a good 12 seconds period with light offshores in the morning building throughout the day but staying offshore so a good day in Portrush all day Sunday with the best winds and swells in the morning.

Conditions are looking very flat for the weekend in Wicklow with no swell but check out the Brittas Bay Surf School page for details on SUP Tours and Sunrise SUPs.

South Coast

Tramore is flat for Saturday with no swell coming through. Sunday appears to have some small onshore winds all day swell but this will probably only produce 1-2ft of onshore messy waves.

South West

Garretstown is looking like its going to have 1-2ft conditions Saturday with onshore winds with 2ft Sunday but again, onshore winds so not great conditions unless your keen to get your foamie wet. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing marginal 1ft waves Saturday with cross shore winds from the south with Sunday bringing 2-3ft waves with onshore winds making for small messy conditions.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking like it could have 1-2ft waves on Saturday but probably in the smaller 1ft for most of the time with light breezes with Sunday bringing 2-3ft conditions but the winds turn direct onshore making for small weak and messy waves. Tides are high before 3 Saturday and closer to 4 Sunday so allow 1.5-2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

Strandhill is showing the best waves first thing in the morning with up to 2ft conditions but this will drop in size as the day goes on with light offshore winds all day with Sunday showing the winds turn onshore and the waves pick up slightly to 2-3ft but these won’t be great as the period is as low as 6 seconds from the winds swell. It looks like a Tullan Strand weekend where I’ve just gotten out (Friday 5pm) and it was 2ft at best with it due to drop Saturday but it could still have 2ft on the better sets on peak 1 with up to 2ft but it will mostly be small. Sunday has the winds turns onshore so make the most of Saturday with the winds up to 20mph making for messy conditions.

North Coast

Portrush is looking like 1ft Saturday and just over 1ft Sunday with the winds being light breezes Saturday but picking up to messy cross shore westerlies on Sunday.

East Coast

The weekend is looking small to flat for Wicklow with only a small to flat wave Saturday with light offshore winds. Sunday is flat but starts off with light southerly winds strengthening later in the day.

South Coast

Tramore looks to have some nice clean small conditions with 2ft waves from a weaker 7 second period swell but the winds are very light which could have nice small longboard conditions with light offshore first thing turning to light onshore a little later. Best swells are early in the morning when it could be slightly bigger than the 2ft and winds are lightest. Sunday starts with light winds and 1-2ft conditions with the better waves first thing with winds getting up in strength towards midday turning cross shore.

South West

It looks like the earlier hours of Saturay is better for the winds with Garretstown starting off with 2-3ft conditions and light breezes staying around until early afternoon when the winds pick up slightly turning cross shore later in the day. Sunday sees the cross shore winds continue turning more cross onshore with 2ft conditions for the day but that wind will bring a bumpy face to the waves. Inch Beach in Kerry looks to start very early with light onshore winds but these look to pick up by 9am and stay onshore in the 12-15mph range all day with no shelter as the winds are mostly westerly on Saturday. Waves should be in the 2ft range on Saturday and 3ft range Sunday but the winds will remain onshore for Sunday building slightly on Saturdays strengths.

West Coast

Lahinch is showing some small conditions on Saturday morning in the 2ft range with very light winds until early afternoon turning onshore in the afternoon so get on it early with the tide off the rocks by 10am allowing you to enter safely after 9.30. Winds in the afternoon looks direct onshore Saturday afternoon and this looks set to continue into the Sunday making Saturday morning the best shout for Lahinch. Waves on Sunday should be 2ft weak blown onshore waves with the tide off the rocks by 10.30.

North West

There have been some epic conditions on Thursday of this week with Friday having a much smaller version of Thursday but Saturday looks to have a smaller version again with 1-2ft conditions for Strandhill with light offshore winds all day until evening when it turns light onshore but rarely getting above 2ft. Sunday could see the swell pick up above the 2ft range but this is paired with onshore winds all day so Saturday is the day for the cleaner conditions. In the Bundoran area it is looking like a Tullan day for Saturday with 1-2ft conditions and very light onshore breezes until evening when it turns more westerly and picks up a little. Sunday stays onshore all day with westerly winds in the 17-20mph range making things messy onshore with 2-3ft blown onshore waves.

North Coast

Saturday in Portrush is looking small to flat with light offshore winds all day turning onshore by evening. The small conditions look to continue through into Sunday with small to flat conditions with offshore winds first thing turning cross shore from the west by evening.

Conditions in Wicklow are looking small to flat for the weekend with very little swell coming up the channel with only 1ft waves at best over either Saturday or Sunday with light to moderate offshore winds both days predominantly from the west.

South Coast

Tramore is also seeing small 1ft waves over Saturday and Sunday with winds cross shore on Saturday from the west and north west with Sunday bringing more onshore conditions with the south in the winds but still only 1ft waves at a 7 second period.

South West

Garretstown looks to start off with a light offshore wind first thing on Saturday morning turning more cross shore as the day goes on with waves starting in the 2ft range and building to 2-3ft later on. Sunday sees more of the 2ft conditions but with the winds from the west meaning cross onshore bumpy conditions with a 9 second period so weaker onshore waves. Inch Beach in Kerry looks to have cross onshore conditions for Saturday but the winds are coming from the north west which may offer an element of shelter from the winds but this will still be onshore. Waves should be in the 2-3ft range. Sunday looks to have much more westerly winds making for 2-3ft blown over onshore conditions for Inch.

West Coast

Winds in Lahinch for Saturday are looking cross onshore for the day with winds in the 20mph+ range with the waves showing smaller period 9 seconds 2-3ft early on building in the afternoon but with the onshore winds will not appear much bigger. Sunday shows direct onshore winds with the waves in the 3ft range blown over with the winds up to 20mph onshore. Tides are high at 4pm Saturday and closer to 5pm Sunday so allow up to 2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

Conditions in Strandhill are showing small with light onshore conditions for Friday with winds to pick up for Saturday with a north westerly swell bringing 2ft conditions in the morning building to 3ft blown over with the onshore winds blowing up to 20mph. All of the other Sligo spots that would normally offer shelter from the westerly winds will not offer shelter from the north westerlies such as Aughris and the swell is just too small to make it that far in. In the Bundoran area it is looking like a 2ft blown onshore Tullan for Saturday or a smaller Rossnowlagh but the winds will still not be favourable. Sunday sees the winds blow directly into Tullan making for messier 2-3ft conditions and no shelter anywhere.

North Coast

Portrush is looking like 1-2ft with light onshore winds for East Strand for Saturday with this wind gradually building throughout the day to strong onshore by evening. This then continues into Sunday with 1ft Sunday with a touch more west in the winds but still cross onshore for there or 1-2ft at West Strand but direct onshore 20mph winds.

Things are looking small to flat for Saturday and Sunday and Monday in Wicklow with only a small wave in the 1ft range but with a very small 5-6 second wind period from the southerly winds blowing all weekend.

South Coast

Conditions in Tramore are also looking small for the weekend with 4-6 second period conditions Saturday from the moderate to strong southerly winds blowing onshore with 1-2ft forecast. Sunday sees the period jump up to nearly 9 seconds with the winds blow from the west and even north west later in the day bringing cross shore conditions to Tramore with waves in the 2-3ft range but bumpy. Monday sees the period drop and the waves weaken back down to 6 second period and onshore conditions with 1ft at best.

South West

It looks like onshore conditions for Saturday in Garretstown with the winds blowing from the south west with 3-4ft blown over conditions. Sunday sees the winds turn cross shore for Garretstown with the waves being bumpy from the previous days onshore messiness but it could bring some somewhat cleaner conditions for Sunday evening as there is more north in the winds. This looks like it will be short lived until Monday morning when the winds start light but very quickly then turn back onshore with 2ft conditions blown over. Inch Beach in Kerry is onshore for all three days with the winds always having west in the direction whether it is north west or south west, it will still mean onshore conditions for Inch with the best chance for waves being on the northerly facing spots in Brandon bay on Saturday or Monday.

West Coast

The winds in Lahinch look direct onshore for both Saturday and Monday with the south west in the winds blowing straight into the bay with 3-4ft blown over waves Saturday and similar for Monday with Sunday seeing much larger 4-6ft blown over conditions with the winds blowing from the north west so cross onshore. Tides are high at 9am/pm Saturday, 10am/pm Sunday and 10.30am/pm Monday so allow 2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

Strandhill should see small conditions on Saturday as the swell has a lot of south in it which will struggle to get into Strandhill so it could be small to flat with cross onshore winds. Sunday sees a little north in the swell but this is off the back of the north west winds which will mean onshore conditions with waves in the 3ft range but messy. Monday sees the winds turn more southerly but this looks to be 20mph plus meaning moderate to strong cross offshore with only 2ft waves that have a small 8 second period on average so really only for longboards or foamies. In the Bundoran area it looks to start small and onshore and then pick up slightly in swell but remain onshore with 2-3ft blown over waves. Sunday sees this jump to 3-4ft blown over conditions which will appear smaller but the first peak on Tullan might have a bumpy wave but not great. Monday sees the winds turn a little more southerly which would normally favour somewhere like Streedagh but the swell is just not enough to bring a wave there so Tullan only again and 1-2ft with the odd 2-3ft set. Rossnowlagh would probably be the spot to handle the winds a little better than Tullan which could be lumpy and bumpy but Rossy will be smaller.

North Coast

Portrush is looking small to flat on Saturday with 1ft at best with offshore winds Saturday. Sunday sees the 1ft remain but the winds turn cross onshore for all spots. That onshore wind from Sunday brings some weaker 2ft conditions to Monday with moderate offshore winds so could be ok for East Strand or Whiterocks, just don’t expect anything too good.

East Coast

Waves on the East Coast are looking small for the weekend with a max of 0-1ft with the best chance of waves working is around Saturday evening into Sunday morning but this will still only work up to 1ft. Winds on Saturday are blowing up to 30mph on Saturday evening from the south with the winds turning moderate to strong offshore on Sunday with westerly winds blowing between 20 and 35mph.

South Coast

Tramore is looking onshore for the weekend with both Saturday and Sunday showing winds blowing from the southwest on Saturday right up into the bay with the forecast showing 2ft weak waves with the winds being the main driver of the waves bringing a 6 second weak period. On Sunday the waves are still only 2ft but at 7 seconds with 20mph+ cross onshore waves from the west.

South West

Garretstown sees similar 2ft blown onshore waves on Saturday with a 6 second period bringing weak waves suitable for lessons only. Sunday sees the swell jump to bring waves of 3-4ft but with the winds turning to the west making for messy onshore conditions. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like it starts 3ft with moderate to strong onshore winds all day but this builds throughout the day up to 6ft plus but these waves will be blown over with the strong onshores by evening. Sunday looks to max out Inch Beach.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking like it is going to be blown onshore all weekend with the winds showing 17-35mph onshore all weekend with Saturdays winds blowing direct onshore into the bay from the southwest with Sunday’s winds blowing onshore from the west. With these winds having no land to pass over, there will be no shelter. Waves should be in the 3ft blown over Saturday and 6ft+ blown over Sunday but I would recommend giving it a miss given the strength of the winds and waves. Tides are high at 4pm Saturday and closer to 5 Sunday but I would ensure to be out of the water at least 2.5 hours before each day.

North West

Conditions in Strandhill Saturday are showing 3-4ft for Strandhill for Saturday with the winds being the only issue with cross onshore with winds in the 14-20mph strength. This may suit more northerly facing spots like Enniscrone but this will drop a lot of the size of the waves so possibly only 2ft weaker conditions with cross offshore. Sunday sees the winds turn from the west which will make for messy conditions and significant jump in the size of the waves so give it a miss Sunday. In the Bundoran area it is onshore all weekend of varying strengths with Saturday showing Tullan 3-5ft onshore with a 9 second period so messy conditions with Sunday showing Tullan maxed out leaving only Rossnowlagh but with the winds blowing up to 30mph plus onshore, I would expect it to be white water conditions only.

North Coast

It’s looking like small conditions around Portrush with 2ft conditions for Saturday with moderate cross offshore winds for East Strand dropping later on to light breezes by evening but still only small. Sunday sees the swell jump but also the winds turning westerly around the Port leaving very little opportunity for any of the spots to offer shelter with waves in the 3-4ft region blown messy.

East Coast

With another week of high pressures and good weather there is small to flat swell forecast for the east coast. Call into Hugh in Brittas Bay Surf School for SUP tours. They may also have lessons on the foamies for kids or beginners.

South Coast

Conditions remain small to flat on the south coast also with Tramore showing only around 6” but good SUP conditions. Give the team in Tramore Surf & SUP school a shout for tours.

South West

Garretstown is showing the possibility of 1ft which could go 1-2ft at times on the tides so possibly enough for a push on the Foamie for those keen to keep the arms going with Saturday evening and Sunday morning showing the most promise when it could go up to 2ft with light breezes. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing 2-3ft for Saturday but this will be with very light breezes of less than 10mph and a possibility of bigger coming into Saturday evening and Sunday morning of up to 3ft before it drops back again to . Sunday sees a good start but quickly drops back to 2ft again with the period and swell dropping as the day goes on so get on it early.

West Coast

So the forecast for Lahinch has been much smaller than the waves that have been turning up and this weekend I suspect will be no different. Currently (Friday) the forecast is for 3-4ft and the waves are barely breaking at 2ft for the longboarders. With the weekend showing 3-5ft on the forecast, I am going to predict that it will be between 2-3ft with light breezes but this could be 2ft depending on the tide when it is checked. Sunday looks to have a smaller 10 second period than Saturday’s 12 second period so waves will probably be more likely in the 1-2ft range but hopefully more of the 2ft variety depending on tides. Tides are high at 9am and pm Saturday and Sunday at 9.30am and pm so allow 1.5 to 2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

Strandhill is showing 2-3ft conditions but there is very little north in the swell so I would expect this to be more in the 1-2ft range for Saturday with Sunday showing more likely small to 1ft with light breezes all weekend. In the Bundoran area things are looking nice today (Friday) at 2ft @ 12 seconds but Saturday looks to drop back to just over 1ft which may bring 1-2ft at Tullan but this will probably only bring the bigger waves to the first peak with most of the beach only showing 1ft with Sunday showing more of the same. Winds are light breezes onshore but these are less than 5mph so not enough to mess with the waves.

North Coast

It looked like some really epic conditions last weekend for the north coast with some great photos coming from Andy @ Troggs. This weekend is showing small to flat conditions for all spots this weekend with no winds or waves but good weather.

Things are looking very flat on the east coast with good weather and light winds all weekend.

South Coast

It’s flat for Tramore for the weekend also with no incoming swell but light winds and good SUP conditions.

South West

It is also flat for Garretstown for the weekend with little to no swell for the weekend. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking to start off small with a northerly swell which will struggle to get into Inch. It could start off small with 1-2ft and build throughout the day with 3-4ft by late afternoon as the period increases to 14 seconds which will help that swell bend in around the Dingle peninsula with winds blowing light northerly. There might be some better conditions to be had on the north side of the peninsula with a range of sizes to suit all surfers from smaller around at Fermoyle to much larger around by Jamie Knox’s where the swell will easily get in to. Sunday sees more of the same as Saturday afternoon so pick your spot and enjoy as the winds are light breezes.

West Coast

Lahinch ended up small to flat last weekend with very little swell getting through. This weekend looks like it will be a different story as the swell is coming from the north which would normally drop it a good bit but there is a good 13 second period so it should be 2-4ft with a good push from that period, not as big as forecast but the winds should be best in the morning. The swell looks to build all day so keep an eye on it but that north should kill most of the size off. The winds turn light onshore but the afternoon. Sunday sees the Saturday evening swell run through into Sunday with similar 3-4ft conditions with light breezes all day. Tides are high at 5am and pm Saturday and 6am and pm on Sunday so leave at least 2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

That north west swell could max out a few spots along the north west coast with chunky 5-8ft conditions for Strandhill with some powerful sets in between with that 13 second period and light breezes for both Saturday and Sunday. Spots like Enniscrone could kill off some of that swell but I would still expect 4-6ft conditions with light offshore winds for the both days. In the Bundoran area this will be on the borderline for Tullan with 6ft plus sets coming through in by the cliff with slightly smaller down the beach on Saturday but a much better shout would be Rossnowlagh where there should be some good 3-4ft conditions all weekend with light breezes on offer. Might not be big enough for Streedagh but Rossy should be a good shout for the weekend.

North Coast

Some really nice conditions forecast for Portrush for the weekend with 4ft @ 12 seconds due to East Strand and Whiterocks which could bring 4-6ft conditions for the weekend with light to moderate offshores Saturday and just light breezes Sunday. Be mindful the NW200 motorcycle race is on for the weekend around the Port so access may be restricted to East Strand Car park but worth a check. West Strand Car Park is out of action altogether but Whiterocks should be free from any of the issues.

Conditions are looking small to flat for the weekend along the east coast with no swell forecast but good sunny conditions for a SUP session with Hugh in Brittas Bay Surf School.

South Coast

Surf on the south coast does not look like it will get above 1ft for the weekend with small 1ft swell forecast with only 7/8/9 second periods which is not going to produce enough for surfing. Check with Surf Sup Tramore for SUP tours as the weather and winds should be perfect.

South West

It is small conditions for Garretstown with flat conditions Saturday followed by 1ft Sunday and possibly just over 1ft on Monday with light breezes all weekend so winds will play very little in the waves. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like the swell will be small and barely enough to encourage a wave to break so 2ft conditions max but most likely smaller Saturday and only 1ft for Sunday and Monday. Saturday and Sunday have moderate winds but these are coming across the land so may be lighter but Monday looks to have light winds from the south.

West Coast

Lahinch has had some cracking conditions throughout the week with nice conditions today (Friday) but this looks to come to an end today and it drops back t 2ft max tomorrow with light offshore winds in the morning turning cross shore later in the day. Sunday drops back further to 2ft @10 second but this will struggle to produce waves greater than 1ft for Lahinch with offshore winds all day and Monday will only have 1-2ft at best with light breezes less than 5mph. Probably good conditions for lessons over the weekend but nothing really for improvers unless you’re keen to get out on the foamies. Tides are high at 10am Saturday, 11am Sunday and 12 Monday but the tides are quite small high tides so allow 1.5-2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

Strandhill has also had some great waves all week but this starts to drop over the weekend with Saturday showing 3ft conditions with winds blowing from the north making for cooler bumpy waves with the winds lightest in the morning before it picks up to 15mph+ by evening. Sunday sees the period drop and the swell go more northerly with lighter winds but this will mean that the swell will back off to 2ft at best with light cross shore winds before Monday drops back further to only have 1ft conditions with barely a breath of wind. In the Bundoran area it’s a Tullan Strand weekend with very little coming through for Rossnowlagh or Streedagh with both flat. Best chance for waves in Bundoran will be Tullan on Saturday morning when the conditions could hit 2-3ft with light winds before they pick up to blow more cross shore. Sunday starts off with light breezes and 2ft waves at Tullan before the swell drops back to 1ft which will only suit foamies from then on for Sunday and Monday but the winds drop right back on Monday to just breezes blowing.

North Coast

It looks like there are waves for Portrush on Saturday but the winds are direct onshore which will make for messy conditions with the winds look to be blowing up to 20mph onshore offering no shelter but the waves could be up to 3ft blown over. Sunday shows 2ft conditions with lighter onshore winds up to 10-15mph. Monday drops back further and will only have 0-1ft conditions with lighter breezes but this will offer nothing for improvers.
