Surf Report for the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of November

East Coast

Saturday on the east coast is looking small to flat with light offshore winds. Sunday looks to have similar conditions but the winds are moderate to strong offshore.

South Coast

Tramore is showing 2-3ft but this is a 6 second period on Saturday so I reckon this will be more likely 1-2ft at best with light onshore winds making for small weaker conditions. Sunday sees the winds pick up from the west making for bumpy 2ft conditions that will probably be messy with the winds gusting to 40mph at times. I’d give it a miss.

South West

Conditions around Garretstown are showing 2-3ft but with the winds blowing from the south making for bumpy onshore waves with only a 6 second period making for weaker onshore waves. Sunday sees both the winds and the waves pick up but not in a good way with the winds hitting up to 30mph cross onshore making the 4-5ft waves feel more like 2-3ft messy waves. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like 2-3ft Saturday with moderate onshore winds gusting up to 20mph with Sunday looking to max out so it’s onshore all weekend but Sunday is to be avoided altogether.

West Coast

Lahinch is showing onshore conditions up until early afternoon when it is to go light southerly cross shore but light enough to not bother the waves too much but the onshores from earlier will leave it bumpy with 3-4ft waves so only a small window but be out of the water by 4.30 at the latest as the light is fading and the waves coming up onto the rocks. Sunday is a skip day as it’s too big and onshore.

North West

It is a similar story for the weekend in the north west with Saturday being the only option for waves as it just get’s too big Sunday. Saturday in Strandhill is showing 3-4ft with light southerly winds making for light offshore conditions for all of the north facing spots before Sunday maxes out. In the Bundoran area it is showing like a nice Tullan day with light to moderate winds cross onshore in the morning turning more cross shore but much lighter in the afternoon. It should have 3-4ft conditions on Tullan low tide around lunch. Sunday then goes nuclear so stay indoors with it maxing out all spots around Bundoran and winds hitting up to 40mph from the west.

North Coast

Conditions in Portrush are showing small 2ft conditions for East Strand with winds cross offshore turning more offshore later with a small increase in size in the waves in the afternoon. Sunday sees the winds stay more southerly so offshore for both East Strand and Whiterocks with waves looking half decent in the 3-4ft range with a good 12 second period and offshore so not a bad shout.

Surf Safe and Enjoy,
