East Coast

Conditions are looking small for Wicklow this weekend with the waves too small for lessons or foamies but good conditions for SUP, especially on Saturday when the winds are bare breezes. Give the guys in Magheramore Surf School a shout for lessons and tours.

South Coast

Tramore is also looking small to flat for the weekend with conditions barely breaking 1ft on Saturday with very light winds with Sunday showing flat and light offshore winds.

South West

Garretstown is showing 2ft conditions with light onshore winds for Saturday with Sunday dropping back to 1-2ft with light offshore breezes. Inch Beach in Kerry has onshore winds for Friday which continue on into Saturday morning but then drop as the day goes on meaning onshore bumps on the waves but it drops in strength very quickly with 4-5ft waves all day. Sunday then has light offshore winds and 2ft conditions which should see some nice longboard conditions on the beach.

West Coast

Lahinch also has onshore conditions on Friday that continue on into Saturday but they look to stay moderate onshore and not drop off as much until Sunday when the winds turn light breezes offshore. Saturday should have 4-5ft conditions first thing dropping back to 3-4ft later on, dropping further into Sunday when it should be 2-3ft due to the smaller 9 second period.

North West

Strandhill looks to have 4-5ft onshore blown over conditions on Saturday with the winds gusting from 15-20mph onshore making for messy conditions with Sunday seeing the winds drop completely off to bring much calmer conditions with 2ft waves at best due to the dropping period and swell. In the Bundoran area all beaches are going to be onshore for Saturday with messy blown over waves maxing out Tullan and leaving only Rossnowlagh for those keen for a wave. Sunday looks like the conditions turn good with 3-4ft conditions on Tullan with light breezes for winds.

North Coast

Saturday has plenty of swell for Portrush but the winds are moderate to strong onshore for all spots with a north west wind offering no shelter. Sunday looks to continue with more of the same with more north in the winds making for messy onshore 1-2ft conditions.

East Coast

Wicklow is looking like it should have some waves on Saturday morning but the issue is the wind direction as it is blowing east south easterly which is practically onshore for the east coast so shelter will be the challenge as it is blowing up to 40mph in the morning. The winds do drop in the afternoon but so does the swell. Another factor for Saturday morning in Wicklow is the Strip and Dip which is a charity swim that is on from 11-3 which means that the beach will be inaccessible so please allow the charity to raise it’s funds and conduct it’s business without interruption as the charity work is very important for those impacted and those taking part. There are plenty of other weekends for waves. Sunday may have a small 1-2ft wave which may get better as the day goes on as the winds are also growing but care should be exercised as it is wind swell coming up the channel.

South Coast

The winds in Tramore are the issue as the wind direction on Saturday is blowing directly onshore and is running between 15 and 20mph onshore which will make the 2ft waves look and feel tiny. Sunday sees the winds blow from the west north west which will make for cross offshore with 3-4ft conditions but bumpy.

South West

Garretstown will be onshore on Saturday with the winds light first thing and blowing stronger as the day passes with 3-4ft blown over conditions. For Sunday, this looks to build to quite large but the winds are moderate to strong cross shore making for messy conditions. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking big and onshore for Saturday so best to give it a miss with Sunday looking uglier so avoid also.

West Coast

Lahinch has some nice clean conditions on the high tide this evening (Friday) but the winds are due to turn onshore tomorrow Saturday and stay onshore for Sunday also with 3ft blown over Saturday and 5-6ft blown over on Sunday with winds blowing 18-15 Saturday and 20-35mph Sunday. Tides are high at 9.30am and pm Saturday and 10.30am and pm Sunday.

North West

Conditions for Strandhill are looking really nice with little winds on show with 2-3ft waves on the beach with possible bigger sets coming through and only light onshore winds less than 10mph Saturday. Sunday sees the winds pick up quite a lot with 3ft waves but with a cross offshore wind that will make thing slightly bumpy as it gusts to 22mph. In the Bundoran area, Tullan should have some really nice waves on Saturday with 3-4ft conditions on Peak 1 of Tullan and still fun 2-3ft waves down the beach. Rossnowlagh could have 2ft waves with a little more shape for Saturday but this will be tide dependent. Sunday has lighter winds than Strandhill forecast so expect 3-4ft conditions again but it may be cleaner in Rossy for Sunday than Tullan as the winds may favour there better.

North Coast

The main swell for Portrush is actually coming from the overnight winds which is showing a south easterly swell but there is a secondary 2-3ft wave coming through from a north westerly direction that should bring 2ft waves for those keen with light winds on Saturday but Sunday will be mostly small to flat with a chance of a small wave on West Strand later in the day with light onshore winds.

East Coast

Saturday on the east coast is looking small to flat for the day with moderate southerly winds. Sunday looks to have more of the same with similar southerly winds blowing which may bring a 1ft wave to Wicklow on Monday with the winds turning a little more cross offshore but again the period will be low so this will only suit lessons or kids.

South Coast

With the southerly winds that are blowing all weekend it is looking small and onshore for Tramore with 1ft Saturday with light to moderate onshore winds with Sunday showing 2-3ft conditions with light onshore winds in the morning building in strength to moderate onshore but afternoon so get on it early but as that wind blows stronger the waves will build slightly. Monday brings 2ft conditions with light onshore winds but these should be less than 10mph but as it has been onshore for the preceding days, it will still be bumpy.

South West

Winds down the south west are looking slightly stronger with Saturday bringing 3ft conditions but blown over by those onshore winds. Sunday starts off with light to moderate onshore winds and 4ft waves but these will be blown over with Monday bringing similar conditions around the 3-4ft mark. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like there is plenty of swell for the weekend however the winds are the issue all weekend with Saturday showing moderate southerly winds gusting up to over 30mph with winds averaging around 20mph cross shore and waves in the 4-5ft range bumpy. Sunday looks like it is lighter winds but they are more cross onshore with 5-6ft conditions possibly blown over with Monday showing similar winds but slightly more onshore dropping off into the evening with waves in the 4-5ft range but with that wind it could be messy.

West Coast

Winds in Lahinch are onshore all day Friday but then look to swing offshore on Saturday morning but with them then swinging back onshore later in the day there is a question if this will be as clean as forecast for Saturday morning with 3-4ft conditions forecast but this looks to build as the winds pick up and the period increases to 11/12 seconds. Sunday sees the winds stay onshore and blowing 15-20mph onshore with 3-4ft blown onshore conditions with Monday showing onshore conditions again with 3-4ft waves blown over. tides are high at 5.30am and pm Saturday, after 6am and 6.30pm Sunday and then closer to 7am Monday morning and 7pm in the evening.

North West

Strandhill is looking like it will be small on Saturday with 1ft conditions, possibly making it up to 1-2ft with cross offshore winds gusting up to nearly 25mph at times. Sunday looking like it will have lighter winds but they direction is more onshore with 2ft conditions again with some bigger sets. Monday then shows back to 1-2ft with light cross onshore winds. In the Bundoran area it is looking like 2ft Saturday in the afternoon with some bigger sets in by the cliff at Tullan and southerly cross shore winds all day. Sunday picks up a little with 2-3ft but the winds go onshore all day light to moderate with Monday staying cross onshore and back to 1-2ft for the most part.

North Coast

Portrush is looking small to flat on Saturday with offshore winds all day with Sunday showing similar small conditions with lighter offshore winds and pretty much the same again for Monday.

East Coast

It’s looking very flat for the weekend in Wicklow with SUP tours being run by Brittas Bay Surf School along the river in Wicklow.

South Coast

Saturday looks like it could have a 1-2ft wave from a small 2ft swell coming through at 9 seconds with light onshore winds so suitable for lessons or foamies for those keen. Sunday drops a little to 1ft with again light onshore winds.

South West

Garretstown should have 2-3ft conditions on Saturday from a 9 second period swell coming through but the winds are 10-15mph onshore so a little bumpy and it may appear smaller as the waves are blown over. Sunday sees the swell halve with 1-2ft forecast with light onshore breezes. Inch Beach in Kerry also has the same 9 second period swell on Saturday so expect 2-3ft conditions with the odd set coming to 4ft with a 10 second period in the middle of the day with cross shore southerly winds gusting to over 20mph but this may be lighter on the day. This southerly winds may favour some of the spots on the north of the peninsula but the swell is only a 9 second period so may not bend as well to the north facing beaches. Sunday sees nearly identical conditions but possibly slightly smaller.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking quite good for the weekend with perfect angle for the bay with 2-3ft waves forecast with light to moderate onshore winds on Saturday but Sunday turns much nicer as the swell continues with light cross offshore breezes but these are less than 10mph so barely going to impact the waves. Waves may be slightly bigger on sets but this will depend on tides and banks. Tides are high at 11am Saturday and after 12 on Sunday.

North West

Strandhill on Saturday is looking small to flat with moderate cross shore winds with a small bump of swell in the evening but this will probably not break greater than 1ft. Sunday in Strandhill is showing 1-2ft max with a swell that is slightly less than West in it’s angle which may struggle to get into Strandhill with a normal fetch area that would prefer more north in the swell angle. In the Bundoran area it is looking like a Tullan Strand only weekend with 1-2ft max on Saturday with cross onshore winds all day. Sunday sees a small lift in swell with 2ft waves predicted with light to moderate cross shore conditions with the winds lightest in the morning.

North Coast

Saturday looks small to flat in Portrush with a small pulse coming through on Sunday but this will still only see it get to 1ft max so probably only good for lessons.

East Coast

Both Saturday and Sunday this weekend are very flat with no incoming swell. The crew in Brittas Bay are running SUP Tours in Wicklow Harbour if you’re keen to get in the water.

South Coast

Saturday in Tramore is looking very flat with some swell coming in for Sunday but this is driven by onshore winds coming from the south west that will bring a weak 1-2ft for most of the day building a little by evening but with the onshores it would only be for those super keen for a messy wave.

South West

While it looks like there is swell Saturday it is poor wind swell and mostly small period brought on by the onshore winds with 1-2ft max with Sunday showing onshore conditions again but Sunday does show a pulse of ground swell coming through with waves in the 2-3ft growing all day but with the winds blowing onshore over 20mph will make for messy conditions. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking messy and onshore for Saturday with 2-3ft blown over conditions with Sunday looking like it may just be a blown out mess with 4-6ft plus waves blown over by 20-30mph onshore winds so best to give it a miss.

West Coast

Both Saturday and Sunday in Lahinch are looking messy and onshore but typically the winds turn light and into the right direction for Monday with offshore winds and a nice swell coming through. Saturday looks to 2ft with onshores gusting to over 20mph. Sunday looks to be over 6ft blown onshore with the winds gusting to nearer 30mph so it should be given a miss. Tides are high at 5.30am and 6pm Saturday and after 6am Sunday and again at 6.30pm.

North West

It is a much different story for the north west with a good swell running through on Sunday. Saturday looks like it is onshore and messy with winds gusting from 15-25mph with 1-2ft conditions in Strandhill before Sunday jumps to over 6ft with cross onshore winds for Strandhill but for the likes of Enniscrone, this could bring 4-6ft conditions with moderate gusty offshore winds. This could also have nice waves for Streedagh with cross offshore winds and 2ft waves. In the Bundoran area, it should leave Tullan maxed out on Sunday but Rossnowlagh could have some nice sized 3-4ft and bigger on sets conditions with cross shore winds that look to get lighter as the day goes on.

North Coast

In the Portrush area it is looking small to flat for Saturday with offshore winds but the winds are in the right direction which means that when the conditions do build on Sunday to 2-3ft with again offshore winds, there should be some glassy conditions on Sunday. There may be bigger sets between East Strand and Whiterocks but there is swell and the winds are in the right direction so it should have some good waves for those who are patient.

Wicklow is looking flat for all three days of the Bank Holiday with nothing over 1ft to be expected.

South Coast

Tramore is also looking small to flat for the three days over the weekend with waves barely breaking 1ft and at a very weak and small period.

South West

Garretstown is looking like 1ft Saturday before dropping back to mere inches then for Sunday and Monday with light offshore winds. Inch Beach in Kerry could hit 2ft on Saturday with very light winds but the winds look to pick up on Sunday and the swell swing from the north west making for small weak 1-2ft waves before Monday drops back to less than 1ft for the day with light cross shore winds making for bumpy conditions.

West Coast

Lahinch is forecasting 3-4ft but this is coming from the north so expect it to be 1ft possibly just over for both Saturday and Sunday with Monday as good as flat. Winds are light Saturday less than 10mph with Sunday a little cross offshore from the north and Monday is light onshore. Tides are high in the mornings and evenings leaving most of the day for surfing but I would be popping into the local surf schools to rent the biggest foamie you can. Saturday’s high tides are 6.30am and pm, 7am and 7.30pm Sunday and 7.30 and closer to 8pm on Monday.

North West

On the north west it is looking like 2-3ft conditions at Strandhill for the day with light whispers of winds Saturday, weaker period conditions Sunday at 2ft with light northerly winds and smaller 1ft conditions for Monday. In the Bundoran area it is looking like 2-3ft conditions Saturday on Tullan Strand with possibly bigger sets in by the cliff with light breezes less than 5mph with Sunday dropping back to around 2ft conditions with light winds again before Monday drops back further to less than 2ft and light onshore conditions.

North Coast

Conditions around Portrush are looking small with 2ft conditions on East Strand with light onshore breezes Saturday. Sunday sees the period drop back to 8 seconds making for weaker 1-2ft conditions with light onshore winds gusting at times with Monday less than 1ft and onshore windy conditions.

With the good weather incoming the east coast is flat calm for the weekend with very little waves or winds.

South Coast

Tramore is showing a nice swell for the weekend but realistically this is not going to get much above 2ft with very light onshore winds that are only breezes on Saturday before Sunday drops back to 1ft at best as the period and the swell drops with even lighter onshore breezes.

South West

Conditions in Garretstown on Saturday are looking like 2-3ft with the odd occasional bigger set depending on the tides with light onshore breezes with Sunday showing 1-2ft and light onshore breezes that may barely register. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing 4-6ft on the charts but this is coming from a small southerly swell which has to bend so even Friday (today) it’s only producing a 2ft max wave with the swell due to drop a little for Saturday so expect 1-2ft waves with a light cross shore wind from the south but this shouldn’t mess with the wave too much. Sunday drops to 1-2ft but it will probably be more of the 1ft than 2 with whispers of wind.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking small for the weekend with 1-2ft knee high waves at best on Saturday with light onshore breezes that are barely whispers so good for those looking to have a bit of fun on a foamie but not much else. Sunday drops back even further to only produce 1ft or less with again light whispers of wind. Tides are high in the middle of the day so get on it early Saturday for the best conditions but that might be it for the weekend as it drops all the way from there with high on Saturday at 1pm so leave 2 hours either side and Sunday’s high at 2 so same again for safe exit and entry.

North West

Strandhill is looking like the swell will be pretty much small to flat for both Saturday and Sunday with light offshore winds Saturday and barely a breeze Sunday. In the Bundoran area it is also looking small to flat for both days with Tullan the best chance for up to 1ft for those keen. Rossnowlagh will probably gain lake status as it will probably have a ripple but winds and weather are good so break out the SUPs.

North Coast

Portrush will also have small to flat conditions for the weekend with very little incoming swell and light breezes both days.

East Coast

Saturday is looking really nice on the east coast with the winds that are forecast bringing a small period but decent size swell up the channel and this should see 2-3ft conditions by midday and building from there for the afternoon. Winds will be strong from the south so care should be exercised when it comes to position in the water and certainly don’t surf alone. Sunday then drops back to 1ft with the odd slightly bigger set but the winds are still moderate to strong southerly.

South Coast

With the south west winds for Saturday and Sunday, Tramore is going to be blown on onshore for both days with messy conditions so probably one to give a miss.

South West

Garretstown is also blown out for both Saturday and Sunday with big unruly waves leaving little for surfing unless you can find shelter. Inch Beach in Kerry is also maxed out on both days so give it a wide berth also.

West Coast

Lahinch is also maxed out for the weekend with both Saturday and Sunday seeing strong onshore winds and very large swell on both days with Sunday slightly smaller than Saturday but still too big.

North West

The northwest does not escape any of the large conditions with winds blowing moderate to strong from the south making for offshore conditions but nearly too strong offshore to make the waves any way surfable in a safe way. The only spot that might kill off some of the swell size might be Aughris or Streedagh but the winds are still very strong so it might be best to sit it out. In the Bundoran area, Rossnowlagh will be the only beach but even at that the winds are still strong and in the wrong direction so expect large bumpy messy surf and big walls of white water that is probably more effort than it’s worth.

North Coast

Portrush has some sizeable waves on Saturday with a near 7ft at 16 second swell coming through which should bring 6-10ft conditions to East Strand so really only for those experienced in surfing large waves should venture out. By evening on Saturday it may have dropped back a bit but it should still be in the 6ft range with bigger sets coming through. Sunday sees it jump up again to 8-12ft conditions from a 8ft @15 second swell with winds only really favouring East Strand with a cross offshore wind gusting up to nearly 50mph making for strong conditions that are definitely only for the experienced surfers out there.
