East Coast

It is looking very flat for the weekend on the east coast with no swell for improvers.

South Coast

Tramore is looking like it could have some small 1-2ft conditions on Saturday with light breezes for most of the day starting offshore in the morning turning onshore by midday but light until evening. Sunday is showing a similar swell size with light breezes all day mostly onshore but still very light.

South West

Garretstown is showing slightly better than Tramore with conditions of 2-3ft on Saturday with the winds light onshore in the morning but picking up after that with Sunday showing slightly better at 2–3ft conditions but with the winds so light that they will have zero effect on the waves with only 1mph in the morning. This does pick up in strength later on but for a longboard cruise, it should be glassy in the morning. Inch Beach in Kerry looks like it could have some 4-5ft conditions on Saturday but the winds are blowing moderate from the south which could make for some cross shore bumpiness with Sunday looking to have similar conditions with the winds slightly less. There could be options for some nice conditions on the north of the peninsula with the winds blowing southerly all weekend so worth checking other spots.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking like a game of two halves this weekend with Saturday showing some onshore conditions with the waves in the 3-4ft region with the winds blowing direct onshore Saturday in the 10-15mph region but this is not super strong but will have a bumping effect on the swell coming in. Tides are high on Saturday at 6am and 6.30pm but they are larger high tides so up to 2.5 hours out of the water either side of high. Sunday sees the winds drop right back to 4mph in the morning peaking at 8-10mph later on, which is only light breezes all day so it will have a bit of lingering chop to it but this won’t stop the waves coming through in the 3-5ft region for the day with the sets growing as the period builds in the afternoon. Tides are high on Sunday at 7am and pm so at least 2.5 hours out of the water for safe entry and exit.

North West

Strandhill is looking similar to Lahinch in that the winds on Saturday with slightly mess with the conditions meaning that the waves will be in the 2-3ft region with bigger on sets with the winds blowing cross onshore for Strandhill before dropping right back for Sunday which will have light onshore breezes meaning that there will still be a little choppiness on the waves but for the most part clean. Conditions should be slightly better at 4-5ft and getting better as the day goes on with the improving period from 9-11 seconds. In the Bundoran area conditions look like light onshore Saturday with the winds from the south west with the waves in the 2-3ft region with Sunday bringing the really light winds and 4-5ft conditions to Tullan Strand and 2-3ft conditions for Rossnowlagh. Be mindful that Sea Sessions is on this weekend so Tullan or the Peak may be chosen for the competition location on either Saturday or Sunday meaning that either the Peak or peak 1 Tullan may be out of commission during the competition hours.

North Coast

Conditions on the north coast are looking small for the weekend with 1-2ft for Saturday with light offshore winds meaning really only good for lessons or those keen to get wet with the longboards. Sunday looks slightly better with light onshore winds less than 10mph but the swell picks up to bring 2-3ft conditions to the likes of East Strand or Whiterocks. The swell builds as the winds pick up so pick your moment and enjoy.

East Coast

It is looking like there will be very little swell making it up the channel on the east coast with the waves looking like less than 1ft all weekend with light to moderate winds from the south.

South Coast

It was looking really good on the south coast earlier in the week but it is now showing 2-3ft conditions for Saturday but this will be weak waves with only a 6-7 second period and winds blowing from the west south west making for cross onshore bumpy conditions for Tramore. Sunday sees the winds drop off to less than 10mph with 1-2ft waves max.

South West

Conditions in Garretstown are looking like it is going to be moderate onshore all day Saturday with the gusts blowing up to 25mph which will make for 3ft blown over waves with weak consistency. Sunday sees the winds drop back but still onshore so expect 2-3ft light onshore conditions but probably more favourable to foamies or longboards. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing big and messy conditions for Saturday with Sunday not fairing much better with the winds still moderate onshore up to 20mph with 2-3ft blown onshore waves. I would avoid the beach on Saturday as it will not be surfable.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking big and messy Saturday with 6ft plus conditions blown over by winds in the morning up to 30mph onshore and only dropping back to 15-20 later on so still bumpy conditions. Sunday sees the winds drop back slightly but still blowing 12-15mph onshore with weaker period making for 2-3ft waves blown over with the winds. Plenty of duck dive practice and the odd nugget here and there. Tides are high on Saturday at 1pm but its not a massive high due to the neap tides so this should only mean about 1-1.5 hours of out the water around 1pm. Sunday sees the tides high after 2pm with 1.5-2 hours out of the water either side. Neap tides occur when the Sun and Moon are at right angles to the earth meaning very little pull as the sun cancels out the large pull of the moon on the tides. These occur during the first and third quarter when the moon appears “Half Full’.

North West

Conditions in the north west are looking like the Friday and Saturday are going to be the better conditions around the country with Strandhill showing that it could have 6ft conditions with light offshore conditions for most of the day with a small pick up in winds on Saturday evening before Sunday turns light onshore but not too strong. The swell drops back on Sunday also bringing 3ft conditions in the morning dropping back to 2-3ft for the remainder of the day. In the Bundoran area it is looking like a good Tullan day but the winds have been onshore on Friday meaning that Tullan could be lumpy and bumpy meaning that Rossnowlagh could be the spot for 3-4ft conditions on Saturday with light offshore winds all day until evening when it picks up slightly. Sunday looks like a nice Tullan Strand start to the day with light breezes not picking up at all throughout the day but light onshore in direction.

North Coast

Portrush is looking like it could have some really nice conditions on Saturday morning when the swell is the right angle for East Strand and Whiterocks with light offshore winds until the evening when it turns light to moderate onshore so get on it early. Waves should be in the 2-3ft region but with the 13 second period early on there should be some good 3 footers dropping back as the period falls throughout the day. Sunday looks like 1-2ft foamie conditions with light onshore winds so make the most of Saturday.

East Coast

Conditions on the east coast are looking very flat for the weekend with the summer well and truly here as far as swell is concerned. Only option on the east coast is to give Hugh a call in Brittas Bay Surf School for a SUP Tour or lesson.

South Coast

Tramore is not looking like it will get over 6” for the weekend with no swell and no period to push any waves that direction.

South West

The waves in Garretstown are looking like they won’t get much over the 1ft range on Saturday with a weak period small swell with light cross offshore winds. Sunday looks a little better but only slightly with up to 2ft waves but these will be weak with only a 5 second period so most likely wind swell that’s travelled with cross onshore winds. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing a north westerly swell of a decent size but with the amount of north in the direction, it is going to struggle to get into Inch Beach and the winds are not favourable for the north side of the peninsula so not great options. Inch might have 2ft conditions on sets. Sunday sees more of the same but the winds have a touch more west in them meaning more onshore and even worse than Saturday with up to 2-3ft but blown over.

West Coast

Lahinch Beach is currently closed due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water. I therefore cannot recommend any get in the water and to do so might put their health at risk. (Conditions were onshore anyway so not great for improvers!)

North West

Conditions in Strandhill are looking like the winds are going to ruin play with a decent swell size coming through with 3-4ft waves but these will appear smaller with the onshore winds and poor period. Winds are up to 15mph onshore. Sunday sees the winds drop slightly but with moderate gusts onshore with 2-3ft conditions with it best in the afternoon. While the swell is nearly 6ft, it’s only an 8 second period which is pushed by the winds. In the Bundoran area it is looking like 3ft and onshore all weekend at Tullan making for messy conditions but if it is going to be onshore Rossnowlagh will have 2ft and handle the onshore a little better than Tullan.

North Coast

It is looking chunky on the charts for Portrush but in reality this is not going to produce heavy conditions as the periods are onshore wind swell with Saturday showing 3-4ft conditions possibly bigger on sets at East Strand and Whiterocks but the winds are a messy 20mph+ cross onshore leaving little shelter on either day.

East Coast

Conditions on the east coast are looking small to flat this weekend for improvers with very little chance of any waves. Give Hugh in Brittas Bay Surf School a shout for SUP Tours and lessons over the weekend.

South Coast

It is a similar story for the south coast with conditions in Tramore only delivering flat calm for SUP Tours. Call Surf SUP Tramore if you are interested in going out on a SUP Tour in the good weather.

South West

Garretstown is not looking like it will get much above 1-2ft for the weekend with a small 8 second period so you are really only talking about knee high conditions that are weak and probably only for foamies with light breezes. Inch Beach is showing 2-3ft but that’s coming from the north which will struggle to get into the bay but given that it’s a 4.5ft swell on Saturday it could bring 2ft conditions with moderate northerly winds but hopefully the hills might offer some shelter. Sunday drops back and is probably be too small for anything for improvers but could have 1-2ft conditions for foamies with a light northerly breeze. Monday looks to have the winds pick up and go more westerly making things bumpy 1-2ft but more of the 1ft than 2ft as the period is only 8 seconds.

West Coast

Lahinch is showing 3-4ft conditions on the charts but this is unlikely given the north in the swell which will probably only see 2ft conditions on the beach with light breezes that should make for cleanish conditions but probably only for longboards or foamies. Sunday will probably not peak above 1-2ft but the winds are also showing light onshore so a little small and bumpy. Monday has more of the same with a little more push in the winds so again small and bumpy. Tides are high at 1.30 Saturday but it’s a small high so only 1.5 hours either side for safe access and exit. Sundays high is before 3 but a bigger high so 2 hours either side for safe access and exit and Mondays high is before 4 with 2 hours either side out of the water.

North West

Conditions on the north west are looking like a summer swell 3-4ft on Strandhill for Saturday with light onshore breezes. Enniscrone should have 3ft conditions with light onshore breezes on Saturday. Sunday bringing slightly smaller 2-3ft conditions to Strandhill and 2ft for Enniscrone with the winds picking up in strength a little in the gusts making for slightly bumpy conditions. Monday looks to pick back up again the swell for both spots with 3-4ft in Strandhill and 3ft for Enniscrone but the winds are gusting to 21mph onshore for Strandhill and cross onshore for Enniscrone. In the Bundoran area it is looking like the winds are a little more exposed with Saturday showing 3ft conditions on Tullan with bigger on sets with the 10 second period with Sunday dropping back to 2-3ft and Monday back up to 3ft+ but the winds Sunday and Monday are going to make for bumpy onshore conditions for Bundoran. Rossnowlagh could have a wave Saturday and Monday but the onshore winds will still be present but Rossy handles it a little better than Tullan as the waves come in more direct in wider bay.

North Coast

Portrush is showing to have 3ft conditions for Saturday with the winds blowing direct onshore for East Strand and Whiterocks with Sunday showing a possibility of some ok conditions first thing with the winds having a touch of south to start before going cross shore for the rest of the day but East Strand could have some shelter with 2-3ft waves possible. Monday looks to have the winds pick up a little but the best shout would be East Strand as it may have shelter at the Arcadia end with 3ft conditions forecast but I appreciate that the Bank Holiday was last weekend for the north coast.

East Coast

Conditions on the east coast are looking small for the weekend with Saturday looking like it will struggle to break over 1ft with moderate winds from the south. Sunday has a small chance of waves in the 1-2ft region but these will be driven from the southerly winds on the Saturday.

South Coast

Tramore is looking like it will be around the 1ft mark starting off on Saturday with moderate onshore winds. Sunday shows it starting off at 2-3ft but building slowly up to 3ft with light cross shore winds all day.

South West

Garretstown is showing 3-4ft waves on Saturday with moderate onshore winds all day long building up to strong onshore by evening. Sunday starts off with a good 4-5ft wave with light cross onshore winds first thing but these do build throughout the day picking up to near 20mph onshore. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like it is going to be a little messy Saturday with moderate cross shore winds Saturday. On Sunday the winds turn direct onshore with winds from the west which will make for 4ft messy conditions on the beach.

West Coast

Saturday in Lahinch is looking really nice with 3-4ft conditions on Saturday with bigger on sets with the good 12 second period. The winds are looking moderate cross offshore with the gusts picking up strong with the best conditions on the south end of the beach. Sunday looks like it starts off nice with 2-3ft conditions with the winds light from the south so a little cross shore before it turns onshore with 2-3ft conditions for most of the day until evening when it begins to pick up strongly with bigger waves up to 6ft but with onshore winds from late morning on. Tides are high at 7am and pm Saturday and 8am and pm Sunday with fairly large high tides so allow at least 2 hours either side for safe entry and exit.

North West

Conditions in Strandhill are looking small for the weekend as there is a bit of south in the swell so it will probably only get 1-2ft for Saturday with probably flat for Sunday. Winds are moderate cross offshore for Saturday and barely breezes for Sunday. In the Bundoran area it is looking like it will be 2-3ft for the main peak on Tullan Strand but 2ft for the rest of the beach with cross offshore winds all day on Saturday with Sunday looking small to flat until evening time when it might pick up to 2ft with light offshore breezes all morning and light onshore breezes in the afternoon.

North Coast

In the Portrush area it is looking like Saturday will peak around the 1ft mark on East Strand and West Strand with the winds moderate offshore for East Strand and cross for West. Sunday looks flat with offshore winds.

South Coast

Conditions in Tramore are looking small to flat with very little winds over the weekend so only really good for SUP conditions. Tramore SUP and Surf School will be the ones to call down that way if you are keen to get in the water.

South West

Garretstown is looking small this weekend with conditions on Saturday only offering up to 2ft conditions with a small period 8 second swell so really only for foamies or longboards with Sunday looking a good bit better with good 3ft conditions with a 13 second period which should bring some nice punchy waves with good gaps between for getting out the back. Winds are light breezes both days which should barely impact the surf. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing that Saturday could be a little too small for waves with 1-2ft conditions max but Sunday looks like the day to surf with conditions offering up to 6ft waves and good punchy conditions with light onshore breezes.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking like a game of two halves with Saturday offering small 1-2ft conditions with possibly better on sets with winds blowing light cross shore from the south east before Sunday jumps to nice 5-6ft waves with nice clean faces with very light breezes that are barely going to blow or have any impact on the waves. The tides are high at 8am and pm and on Sunday at 9am and pm meaning you are good to get in the water 90 minutes after high on the way out and you have to be out of the water 2 hours before high getting out.

North West

Strandhill is looking like it is going to be flat on Saturday as the swell has a touch of south in it that is not going to make it into Strandhill but Sunday looks to be direct west and could bring some nice 3-4ft conditions with a good period meaning that some of the sets will be bigger but there should also be good gaps between the sets. Winds are light, less than 10mph and should have zero effect on the waves. In the Bundoran area it is showing small to flat for even Tullan on Saturday with Sunday delivering nice 4ft+ conditions on Tullan and maybe 2-3ft in Rossnowlagh with light onshore breezes for both.

North Coast

It is looking very flat on all beaches on Saturday with good offshore winds with Sunday bringing 1-2ft conditions for East Strand with light offshore winds. There is a good 14 second period so it may bring a little bigger wave on sets in between so good for longer boards or foamies or just for those who are keen.

East Coast

Things are looking small to flat for Saturday, with maybe 1ft Sunday and similar for Monday with winds blowing from the south for Saturday pushing swell up for Sunday with light winds Sunday mostly light onshore with Monday bringing cooler northerly winds.

South Coast

It’s also looking small to flat for Saturday in Tramore with no incoming swell with Sunday building from nowhere to bring 3-4ft clean offshore conditions to the south coast with easterly winds which will be light enough to not mess with the waves and should make for some nice soft conditions as the period is still a little small at 9 seconds. Monday drops back again with a small 2ft pulse in the morning before quickly dropping back to 1ft for the rest of the day.

South West

Garretstown is forecasting 1ft conditions for Saturday with light variable direction breezes with Sunday jumping up like Tramore to bring 4ft conditions and offshore winds in the morning dropping to 2-3ft by evening with small periods suiting longer boards or short boards with more volume better. Sunday sees things return to 1-2ft conditions with northerly winds making it cross offshore but small waves. Around Inch Beach in Kerry Saturday is looking marginal for waves with the conditions being on the borderline for waves but it could have 1-2ft clean offshore conditions. Sunday sees the winds go northerly which will make the 1-2ft conditions a little bumpy and Monday looks to be a little stronger on the northerly winds making for more messy waves but still only in the 1-2ft region.

West Coast

Conditions in Lahinch are looking small for the weekend with conditions being in around 1-2ft Saturday with possibly more of the 2ft conditions with the 11 second period and light breezes. Sunday sees similar 1-2ft conditions with light offshore breezes. Monday sees a slight pulse coming from the north which could bring slight bigger waves but with the north in the swell it could just bring slightly bigger period 2ft waves with light onshore breezes. Tides are high at 3pm Saturday, 4pm Sunday and 5pm Monday so leave 2 hours either side of high for safe access and exit.

North West

In the northwest it is looking like both Saturday and Sunday are going to struggle to get above 1-2ft with light onshore breezes for both days. It won’t be until Monday when Strandhill will get up to 2-3ft conditions with light breezes from the north west. This would be a similar set of conditions for the Bundoran area with Saturday looking small to flat with light onshore breezes. Sunday is showing 1-2ft max for Tullan with the wind barely blowing at all before Monday sees things jump a little to 2-3ft in the afternoon with light breezes but it will be Tullan as the only option.

North Coast

On the north coast it is looking like Saturday will be flat with light offshore breezes barely blowing, Sunday could see 1ft with light breezes onshore with Monday possibly pushing up to 1-2ft with onshore winds up to 15mph at times making it a little messy bumpy waves.

East Coast

Conditions on the east coast are looking small to flat for the weekend with the onshore winds making for small messy onshore conditions. Waves will not be much above 1-2ft with barely hitting 1ft Sunday.

South Coast

Tramore is showing conditions of barely 1ft for the weekend with winds blowing offshore on both days but not enough swell for waves.

South West

Garretstown is also showing small conditions for Saturday with 2ft waves poredicted for Saturday with flat for Sunday with offshore winds on both days but again not enough swell for waves. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like it is going to have 2-3ft conditions for Saturday but this is coming from a northerly swell which may reduce down the size of the waves with Sundays swell not big enough to produce any waves above 1-2ft with onshore winds.

West Coast

Lahinch is having some nice conditions today (Friday) but this does has not hit the 5-8ft that was predicted as the swell is coming from the north. Saturday is showing 4-6ft on the charts but this is probably looking more like 2-3ft with north in the swell killing off some of the size. Sunday will probably have 1-2ft conditions but the winds are showing light onshore winds compared to Saturdays offshore breezes. Tides are high at 8am and pm with Sunday high at 9am and 9pm with the tides high enough to need to be out of the water 2 hours either side of high.

North West

Reports from Satrandhill were of some nice conditions on Friday with Saturday showing 3-4ft conditions as the north west in the swell will favour Strandhill over the spots down south. Winds are light offshore breezes making for some really nice conditions. Sunday looks to have 2ft conditions with winds that are showing onshore but will probably barely blow. In the Bundoran area it should be a nice 3ft conditions on Tullan Strand with no winds blowing at all with Sunday showing waves in the 1-2ft region with again no wind.

North Coast

Conditions in Portrush are showing 2ft for Saturday on East Strand with light breezes but these conditions will probably only favour foamies or longboards. Sunday looks to be too small to break over 1ft on any of the beaches.
