East Coast

Saturday is showing that conditions will not get much above 1ft for the whole day with moderate cross offshore winds from the north west which will make things feel a little chilly. Sunday shows the waves in Wicklow to be small to flat with no swell predicted.

South Coast

Conditions in Tramore are looking small with Saturday showing the possibility of 1-2ft conditions depending on the tides with the winds starting off a little strong in the morning but dropping off as the day goes on but always cross offshore from the north west. Sunday drops back too much to only deliver 1ft at a push with light breezes for the day.

South West

Garretstown is showing slightly better conditions than Tramore with 3ft conditions starting off dropping back to 2-3ft later on with the winds being moderate to strong cross offshore all day. Sunday is looking more like 2ft with light cross offshore winds all day. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing a big northerly swell coming down into the bay but this will have to bend to get in so a good bit of size will be lost but I would still expect 3-4ft conditions but the winds are from the north so the closer to the north cliff the better the shelter. Sunday looks a good bit better with the swell still having a touch of north in it but a lot more west to help that swell get in. Conditions should be around the 3-5ft range with the winds showing light onshore in the morning dropping back to breezes later on.

West Coast

Lahinch is not looking great for Saturday with the north in the swell and the winds making for messy cross shore conditions. The swell is large but the north in it will make it struggle to get into Lahinch Bay so I would expect 3ft messy conditions with the winds bringing an icy feel. Sunday looks much better from the swell perspective with much more west in the swell but it does drop quite a bit so so it will probably only deliver 2-3ft conditions with possibly better on sets. The winds are light onshore but by afternoon these are only breezes. Tides are high in the mornings with Saturday high at 9 so leave 2 hours after before venturing in the water and Sunday is high after 10 so don’t venture in until the water has started to drop off the rocks.

North West

Waves in Strandhill and the Bundoran area are looking like a mess on Saturday with northerly swells having a much better chance of getting into the bays making for messy conditions and with the north in the winds, there are very few spots that will offer any shelter at all. Sunday looks a much better call for both Strandhill with conditions at 3-4ft and Bundoran with conditions at 3-5ft on Tullan or 2-3ft at Rossnowlagh with the waves carrying a bit of a bump from the previous day’s winds but local winds should be light.

North Coast

Conditions in Portrush are looking ok for Saturday and fairly nice for Sunday with Saturday showing 4-5ft conditions at the likes of East Strand or Whiterocks with a moderate to strong wind first thing in the morning before dropping back to a light onshore wind and further dropping to a breeze by evening. Sunday starts with offshores and stays offshore for the day with conditions around the 3-4ft for most of the day with the winds light enough to not bother the waves.

East Coast

Conditions on the East Coast are looking like they are going to be small to flat on Saturday with a big period but very little swell and only light offshore breezes which will struggle to hit 1ft waves. Sunday is similar until much later in the afternoon into evening when the northerly winds bring some wind swell to the beach in Wicklow but this could bring 2ft weak wind swell waves to the beach with onshore winds.

South Coast

Conditions in Tramore are looking really good for Saturday with 2-3ft conditions and light cross offshore winds which should make for some nice longboard conditions with a little bump on the wave but Tramore can handle a little wind. Sunday sees the swell swing around a bit starting small at 1-2ft before building until later in the day when it could hit 2-3ft but the winds are looking moderate to strong offshore.

South West

Garretstown is looking like it could be maxed out for improvers on Saturday with 6ft plus conditions and moderate cross shore winds all day. Sunday sees the swell normalise somewhat but the conditions should still be in the 3-4ft region with the winds moderate to strong offshore so take care in the winds and keep control of your board but also make sure to watch you position to ensure you are not being blown out to sea. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing some massive conditions on Friday which look to spill over into Saturday with the waves and wind being too strong for improvers with the winds coming from the north west meaning very little shelter on either side of the peninsula. Sunday looks to be only a bit smaller at the 6ft range with northern winds that look moderate to strong but may be lighter with land drag.

West Coast

Saturday looks to be big and unruly in Lahinch with the winds blowing direct onshore all day with waves being too big and messy for improvers. Sunday looks like there are two separate swells coming into the bay and the southern swell is the one that will bring the best chance of waves although the northerly swell could bring some random larger sets but the conditions are showing to be building all day with the morning looking like northerly swells are the primary which tend not to get into the bay as easy with perhaps 2ft conditions before the secondary swell kicks in by afternoon when the waves should build but with the high tide parking at 6pm on Sunday you really need to be out of the water by 3.30 when the waves could be 3-4ft so allow time for your exit. Winds are moderate 15-30mph offshore from the north west all day.

North West

Saturday looks like it is going to be too big and chunky for any waves around Strandhill or the nearby spots with the only possibility being Aughris on Saturday but with the winds blowing from the west all week the waves hitting there are not going to be clean by any means. Many spots will be maxed out with the conditions so it could be a day to sit it out and enjoy the rugby. Sunday looks like a much nicer set of conditions with the winds less than 10mph from the north east which would mean spots like Rossnowlagh could be really nice on Sunday with 3-4ft conditions. Tullan may start out with some bigger sets but should become more mannerly by lunchtime. Strandhill will also look much better on Sunday with perfect 3-4ft conditions with light offshore winds.

North Coast

Conditions on the north coast are looking really good for Saturday with 5-6ft conditions with bigger on sets coming from the 16 second period all day. Winds are light offshore for the likes of East Strand which should fare the best for the conditions but Whiterocks will also be a good shout but be wary of the size of the waves and only go out if it is in your experience range. Sunday looks like the east in the winds could make for cross shore conditions for both east and Whiterocks but West Strand could be offshore so check it out where waves should be in the 3ft range.

Surf Report for the weekend of the 17th and 18th of February

From next week the surf reports will be linking to my website as more and more people have been asking for reports as they are not users of Facebook so I will still post here and on other platforms with a link to the report going forward but the website will have the report. Check Surfimprovers.ie each week now going forward for reports.

East Coast
It is looking like there is going to be some wind driven swell up the channel for waves in Wicklow but these should be small weak waves as they are wind driven with only a 5 or 6 second period which should be enough for 2ft conditions with moderate to strong southerly winds. Sunday looks small to flat with light offshore winds.

South Coast
Conditions are looking small and onshore for Tramore on Saturday as the winds are blowing moderate to strong from the south with the best conditions on Saturday late afternoon when the winds will drop off but still be onshore. This means that conditions during the day will vary from 2ft in the morning up to 3-4ft blown onshore before dropping back to 2-3ft but it will be bumpy as the winds are blowing onshore all day. Sunday drops back to 1-2ft with light cross shore breezes from the west.

South West
Conditions in Garretstown are looking blown out on Saturday with the waves in around the 3-4ft zone with bigger sets in between due to the large 19 second period with the winds blowing directly onshore making for messy white water. Sunday sees the winds still blowing from the west and south west but with the waves jumping in size to 5-6ft with bigger waves on sets with the larger 14 second period. This will mean chunkier heavier waves that will fair better in the light onshore conditions. Winds look lightest in the middle of the day. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing that it is going to be chunky and probably maxing out with the large 17-20 second period on Saturday and solid 12ft at 14 seconds Sunday so I would recommend giving it a miss and checking for spots that will kill off some of the swell size. Winds are from the south west on Saturday and same for Sunday so possibly check some of the more shelter spots on the north of the peninsula that may get some swell wrapping in.

West Coast
Lahinch is looking like it is going to start off with offshore winds in the morning with waves in the 6ft plus range and then this turns to winds from the south and the swell looks to jump in line with the winds picking up. It is showing waves well overhead with a large 17-21 second period which should bring some large volume waves which may be out of the improvers range bringing conditions into the experienced surfers only range so I would ask that everyone exercise caution as big period waves can offer big lulls between sets where all can appear calm before large sets roll in bringing big volumes of water. Sunday looks to go onshore with waves that are very big and should not be undertaken unless experienced in conditions double overhead. Tides are high at 11am Saturday so allow 2 hours either side for safe access and exit and Sunday should be avoided at all times.
North West
Strandhill is showing some big period conditions also which should bring about some chunky conditions with the forecast for 5-8ft conditions but these waves should have much more volume which will make them harder to duck dive or turtle roll. Unless you have experience in these conditions, I would opt for more sheltered spots such as Enniscrone or Streedagh which could have some more normal conditions of 2-3ft with random bigger sets in between. Sunday in Strandhill is looking like it will be well overhead with a good 15 second period so only for the experienced surfers out there with light winds. Streedagh or Rossnowlagh will offer some good head high conditions on Sunday with light winds. Tullan should have 4-6ft conditions on Saturday with moderate cross shore winds with Sunday pushing Tullan possibly past its maxing out point with light cross onshore winds so Rossnowlagh would probably offer more for improvers.

North Coast
Despite the small figures that are showing for East Strand the bigger period may bring some nice waves to the north coast with 2-3ft conditions with the 20 second period could jump to 3-5ft conditions with moderate offshore winds. Sunday looks like a much better shout for East Strand with 3-4ft conditions and light offshore winds all day.

Caution: Bigger period swells being about a greater volume of water in the waves and can even enlarge the size of the waves as they break as there is a lot more water in the wave meaning that it will dump with much greater force which can often snap boards and hurt bodies so caution should always be exercised. If in doubt, don’t go out.

Surf Report for the February Bank Holiday Weekend

East Coast
It is looking like both Saturday and Sunday will be small to flat for the two day with a small 1-2ft wind swell wave for Monday with moderate cross offshore winds.

South Coast
On the south coast the problem is looking like the winds that are blowing from the south and west south west for the weekend on into Monday. All three days are moderate onshore. Saturday is showing 2ft with a small period as it is all wind swell so weak waves blown over. Sunday is looking like similar with the onshore dropping off slightly in the late afternoon. Monday showing 2-3ft but again moderate to strong onshore winds.

South West
Winds are onshore for all three days over the weekend in Garretstown with the waves showing 3-4ft conditions blown over, similar for Sunday and dropping slightly to 2-3ft for Monday but the onshore winds all weekend are going to make for very little waves for improvers, unless you’re keen to work on your duck dive game but the waves will be white water mess all weekend.
Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like it is going to be massed out all weekend with onshore winds all weekend making for poor surfing conditions. There may be some opportunities for offshore winds on the north of the peninsula but the winds are moderate to strong with the best day for lighter winds on the north facing spots being Saturday.

West Coast
Lahinch is looking like there will be too much west in the winds for the weekend with all three days showing large and messy conditions with very little for the improvers. Saturday is showing 6ft plus blown over, Sunday is showing 8ft plus blown over and Monday is 6-8ft blown over. The onshore winds will make the waves look smaller but there will be lots of messy white water. Tides are high at 11 Saturday, 12 Sunday, and 1.30 Monday and while they are not big high tides, due to the wave and wind size, I would still recommend at least two hours out of the water either side of high.

North West
Strandhill is looking maxed out for all three days with the swell bringing well over 6-8ft waves for all three days with the winds cross onshore. The only spot that might have a little shelter from the winds and the size of the waves would be Aughris in by the cliffs where there will some respite from the west winds and the south in the wind will offer some cross offshore conditions. Streedagh will be big and dumpy all weekend but for those keen for a wave it will have sufficient reforms for smaller waves on the inside with cross offshore winds. Mullaghmore beach may have a small wave for those looking for something tamer. Tullan Strand will be well maxed out and Rossnowlagh will be walls of messy white water with the wave size and wind direction.

North Coast
Portrush is looking like it could have some nice conditions for the weekend with the only warning that it is looking big and chunky. Saturday is showing 5-6ft conditions with a large period so expect heavy waves on East Strand or Whiterocks with cross offshore winds. Sunday is looking bigger again with well overhead conditions with a 16 second period which will bring gaps in the waves but monsters when they arrive up to 8-10ft+ so please do not venture out in these conditions if you are not experienced in surfing waves of this size. There will be a strong current to match the conditions as that will be a lot of water unloading on the beach so this is really only for the experienced surfers and not the improvers. Monday sees it drop back to 5-6ft with a more moderate 12 second period and the winds are slightly more offshore for East Strand but the winds are a good but stronger on the gusts.

Surf Report for the weekend of the 27th and 28th of January

East Coast
It is looking like there will be some small waves on the East Coast this weekend with Saturday showing small to flat for most of the day but a small wave will start to kick in later in the day around the 1-2ft mark with Sunday showing some 2-3ft conditions for Wicklow. Winds are moderate to strong from the south so watch your position and get out and reposition if needed as the winds will have a tendency to blow you out of position.

South Coast
Tramore is showing 3-4ft conditions for Saturday but these are only a 6 second period which would suggest that they are wind driven and will probably be more like 2ft blown over from the onshore winds blowing around 20mph. Sunday shows it jump but the winds are gusting up to 4mph so I would expect 3ft conditions blown out from the onshore winds.

South West
The winds will also play a factor in Garretstown with the winds blowing direct from the south offering no shelter and messy 4-5ft waves coming in all day making it very hard to get out back on both days so not great conditions. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing that it should be avoided over the weekend as the conditions will be blowing strong from the south and the swell is large and unwieldy.

West Coast
Lahinch is looking big and messy for the weekend with big walls of white water making it not suitable for improvers over the weekend with Saturday and Sunday showing it maxed out and the winds cross onshore.

North West
Strandhill is looking like it is going to be maxed out over the weekend with even Streedagh showing to be too big for anything other than dumpy white water. Aughris is the only spot that might offer some shelter from the large swell as it is tucked away and takes a good bit of the punch out of the swell. I would not travel to Aughris for the surf but if you are in the area and keen then it could be worth a check. I feel that Enniscrone may be be too big on the larger period and may produce some dumpy sets as the large period may just unload when it hits the shore. In the Bundoran area, Tullan will be maxed and no good with Rossnowlagh possibly being blown out with the onshore conditions so not great for surfing in any of the spots with the stormy conditions.

North Coast
Portrush is showing that it could have some decent chunky conditions for the weekend with the larger period bringing some size to the waves. I would exercise caution as larger periods tend to bring fatter waves that require more energy to duck dive and can unload with a lot of water in the lip so paddling out back between sets might work out once or twice but there is also sets that may land on you with some weight. Sunday looks a little more manageable than Saturday with Saturday showing 7ft @ 15 which will probably bring 7-8ft sets with Sunday showing 5-8ft sets depending on the tides. Check in with Andy in Troggs for up to date reports each morning.

Surf Report for the weekend of the 20th and 21st January

East Coast
It is looking like there are going to be some decent sized waves coming to the East Coast this weekend with both Saturday and Sunday showing good swell but there are warnings with that. For Saturday the conditions are looking like there could be 2-3ft conditions in Wicklow with the the winds moderate to strong from the south south west which means that the conditions will have clean waves in Wicklow but the winds may be strong cross offshore. Saturday is the day for those who want a safer was as conditions for Sunday brings Storm Isha which has conditions looking to jump. Sunday looks to have much stronger winds with the swell being pushed up the channel by those winds with the swell showing 3-5ft conditions but the wind strength is very strong so I would recommend getting out on Sunday before the winds really pick up but obviously care should be taken if and lean on your experience and if you haven’t been out in winds of this strength as the currents may be stronger than you can paddle with the strength of the winds so if you are venturing in the water, do not do so alone and ensure that someone knows where you are at all times. Also ensure that you keep a close eye on your position in the water and don’t be afraid to get out if you notice that you are drifting and cannot paddle against the drift. If in doubt, don’t go out. There will be plenty of waves another day for sure.

South Coast
With that swell being pushed up the east coast from the southerly winds, this means that the south coast is going to be howling onshore with big messy conditions for Tramore with 25-39mph winds Saturday and up to to 60mph Sunday so give it a miss. The angle of the winds will also leave very few spots for shelter.

South West
Garretstown is also going to be a spot that is maxed out and unsafe for surfing so give it a miss on both Saturday and Sunday with big swells and big winds.
Inch Beach in Kerry is showing conditions that are looking big on Saturday and bigger on Sunday but not in a good way with Saturday showing Inch to be verging on maxed out so I would avoid. Sunday is going to be massive and onshore so equally avoid. There may be a chance of a wave on the north of the peninsula on Saturday that may have a cross offshore but this will be blowing constantly so check it but be prepared for lots of winds. Sunday is a duvet day for all spots.

West Coast
Lahinch has a good swell coming in Saturday that is probably going to bring some overhead 6-8ft conditions but with the winds blowing directly from the south it means that the south of the beach may have a tiny bit of shelter but for the most, it will probably be cross onshore all day. Tides are high on Saturday at 1pm with 2 hours out of the water either side of high leaving a limited window for any waves. Sunday is a no go so avoid.

North West
Conditions in Strandhill are showing 4-5ft waves with the winds blowing moderate to strong cross shore all day so expect windy bumpy conditions. Some of the northerly facing spots like Enniscrone may have a clean wave but those winds will have nowhere to go but straight up the front of the 2-3ft waves and may even make it a struggle to get into the waves. Sunday is just too strong in the winds to consider surfing. In the Bundoran area it is looking like Tullan will have a wave but the winds are showing moderate cross shore gusting strong at times which will have a small bit of shelter in by the cliff but the waves will be coming in with quite a bit of bump to the wave so it could be surfable at 4ft waves but the winds will pose a problem to the cleanliness of the waves. Sunday will be maxed out at Tullan and onshore for everywhere. You might get Streedagh if the winds don’t blow as strong as forecast but the winds are due to pick up very early in the day.

North Coast
I am a little disappointed that the winds are blowing from the south for the weekend yet Portrush is not getting much swell on Saturday with 1-2ft max and there is a chance that the winds may blow this swell off. Sunday is showing what looks to be a nice size swell but the winds blowing up to 55mph means that it’s just too dodgy to risk going near the waves. Worth a look but please exercise caution.

As always with a Storm approaching, I am not advocating for anyone to do anything dangerous so please, know your limits, your abilities and do not venture out into conditions that you are either not comfortable with or have not experienced before. Never surf alone and always tell yourself, there will be waves next week or the week after, you need to be alive to surf them so exercise caution and there is no shame in walking away to surf another day.

Surf Report for the weekend of the 13th and 14th of January

East Coast
It is looking flat on the east coast for the coming days with no sign of any swell that will bring waves.

South Coast
Tramore is looking like the report is showing some good waves but the conditions will only bring 1-2ft at a push for the weekend with offshore breezes for both days. Sunday looks the better day for hitting 2ft but Saturday will struggle.

South West
Conditions in Garretstown are showing 2ft for Saturday with a good 12 second period and light breezes in the offshore direction with Sunday showing similar until later in the day when it may pick up towards late afternoon. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like a 2ft conditions and while the winds are showing moderate offshore, I would expect that these conditions will be lighter when you take land drag into account as the winds are coming from the east. Sunday sees the swell come from a lot more south which means that it will probably be too small by the time it bends into the bay for much surfing.

West Coast
Lahinch has been firing all week and it has been hard to see the reports from the comfort of the office but c’est la vie. This weekend in Lahinch is looking like it is going to drop down significantly from what has been seen all week. It is looking like Saturday will probably only hit 2ft for most of the day with the odd set bringing a little more push but it is direct west so will probably favour the right hand bank out in front of Vaughans. Sunday sees the primary swell come from the north west with a small secondary southerly swell but these are going to lose size as they bend into Lahinch with probably only 1-2ft at best with more longboard conditions. Tides are high in the morning and evening outside of daylight hours but be sure to be out of the water by about 4.30 on Saturday and by dark on Sunday.

North West
Strandhill is looking small for the weekend with 1-2ft for Saturday and probably more 1 than 2ft for Sunday with light onshore breezes Saturday that are barely registering with Sunday bringing similar from the north. In the Bundoran area, it is looking like it is going to be a Tullan only weekend with a max of 2ft Saturday and probably similar for Sunday with light breezes of varying directions all weekend but all less than 10mph.

North Coast
Conditions in Portrush are showing northwesterly onshore conditions with 2ft waves Saturday with 10-15mph onshore winds leaving very little space for shelter on any of the spots but given the swell direction, it will favour East Strand best or Whiterocks. Sunday sees the swell jump but also the strength of the winds with 2-3ft blown over from the onshore 20mph winds blowing directly from the north.

Surf Report for the weekend of the 6th and 7th of January

East Coast
After a good run of swell from all of the storms on the east coast it is looking like it is going to be small to flat this weekend in Wicklow with no swell due until Wednesday or Thursday when a small onshore burst will come in from the north west.

South Coast
There have been some good waves seen down in Tramore on Thursday and Friday but the weekend is looking like it won’t break anything above 1ft for either Saturday or Sunday with light offshore winds on both days.

South West
Conditions in Garretstown are a little better with the waves showing 2ft for Saturday with light cross offshore winds with the waves best in the morning as the swell size looks to drop all day so could be less than 2ft by dark. Sunday is showing small to start but by lunchtime it looks like it could jump to 2-3ft with a good 12 to 13 second period with direct offshore winds which could be some nice conditions on the beach. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing some nice conditions on Saturday with the swell coming directly from the west so this should bring 2-3ft conditions to the beach for days with light offshore breezes which will favour longer boards. The forecast for Sunday is predicting moderate cross shore winds from the south east but these winds are not visible on the charts for other nearby spots so I would expect this to be an anomaly but if the direction is right then the winds are cross offshore but the strength is questionable with waves in the 4-5ft region.

West Coast
It is looking like a nice weekend in Lahinch with the conditions showing a swell on Saturday that has a touch of north in the swell which may reduce the size of the waves down slightly which would make me think that conditions should be 2-3ft on the beach with the winds only blowing light breezes which should be really nice. Sunday sees the swell swing to south westerly which is a much better direction for the beach and this should allow better waves to come up into the bay with 3-4ft conditions but with the 13 second swell there could be larger sets coming through and offshore winds all day so this could be really nice. Tides are high at 1pm Saturday but it’s a very small high with only a 1.5m difference between low and high so it will move slowly and you can probably surf through the high tide but to be safe I’d leave an hour either side out of the water. Sunday’s tide is a little bigger so leave 1.5 hours either side of 2pm to safely exit or enter the water.

North West
Strandhill is looking like it could be nice on Saturday with a 3ft wave and only light onshore breezes all day. Sunday looks a little smaller but starting off with 2-3ft and dropping down mid morning to 1-2ft with the odd bigger set due to the 14 second period with light offshore winds. Probably still ok for longboards or foamies. In the Bundoran area it is looking like a really nice Tullan weekend with 3-4ft conditions with light breezes Saturday followed by a 2ft day on Sunday with light offshore breezes so it looks pretty good for all boards but will probably favour bigger boards as the tides have very little movement between low and high.

North Coast
Portrush is showing 2-3ft for Saturday with a light onshore wind all day with Sunday looking smaller at 1-2ft but with light offshore breezes. Even though it is onshore Saturday I would still take an onshore wave over an offshore ripple.

Surf Report for the New Year’s Bank Holiday Weekend

East Coast
It is looking like there will be some waves on the east coast tomorrow with Wicklow and Wexford both looking like they will have some waves with the forecast showing up to 3ft conditions in Wicklow. It is showing that the winds will be onshore in the morning, cross shore by lunch and then offshore for the afternoon with the peak of the swell being around lunchtime. Sunday is showing marginal conditions with maybe 1ft with moderate offshore winds before going flat for New Year’s Day.

South Coast
It is looking big and onshore for Saturday and Sunday in Tramore on the the beach with the winds causing the main issues with direct onshore Saturday with the swell saying 11ft @ 9 but with the direct onshore winds this will look like 3-4ft blown over so not great conditions. Sunday shows the winds to be more cross shore but strong enough to mess up the waves and make it dodgy. Monday is shaping up to be a really nice day with 2-3ft conditions and bigger on sets with light onshore breezes only.

South West
Conditions in Garretstown are looking big and onshore for Saturday and Sunday before turning good for Monday with 4ft conditions with light offshore breezes all day so save the arms for Monday. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing some crazy conditions for Saturday and Sunday so avoid the area but then Monday turns to light onshore winds with 4-5ft conditions first thing before dropping back to 3-4ft later on when the winds drop. Conditions will probably still have a bump on them from the two days of onshores but that’s to be expected with tempeh winds the day before.

West Coast
Lahinch is a similar affair with massive onshore conditions for Saturday and Sunday before Monday turns really nice with the charts showing 8-10ft but with this coming directly from the west it will lose a little size and probably come in at more like 4-6ft conditions with light onshore winds all day but this should still have good conditions for surfing with a chop on the wave from the previous few days onshore winds but Monday is definitely the better of the three days over the bank holiday. The tide is high at 8am on Monday so allow 2 hours after before getting in.

North West
Strandhill is showing 3-4ft on Saturday with winds blowing moderate to strong from the south mostly so cross offshore but with the gusts I would be very careful of where you get in and where you get blown to so keep a track of your position to allow yourself to get out safely. Sunday is maxed out for Strandhill with the only spot that might have shelter being Aughris in by the cliff as the winds are moderate West South West all day. Monday sees the conditions start out quite big for Strandhill so I would check Streedagh for the conditions first thing but these will drop down throughout the day. In the Bundoran area it looks like Tullan will have a wave Saturday but the winds will be moderate to strong cross shore so careful checking the conditions near the cliff edge but it should have 3-4ft conditions but it will be messy with the strength of the winds. Sunday will be maxed out everywhere before Monday turns ok with the conditions starting onshore and way too big for Tullan but Rossnowlagh should have a decent sized wave in the 4ft plus size getting cleaner as the day goes on and the winds drop and the swell goes to a more manageable size with even Tullan taking shape by the afternoon.

North Coast
So all of my charts have been getting it wrong for Portrush lately so I am using pure instinct at this stage! Saturday is showing small 2ft conditions for East Strand with moderate to strong offshore winds with Sunday showing a little better on the swell size at a more solid 2-3ft all day with Monday looking better with the winds looking offshore from the other side blowing from the Arcadia end with 3ft conditions all day. Fingers crossed that any of that happens as Surfline, Windy.ty, Ventusky, Windguru and YR have all been lying to me lately!
