East Coast
It is looking like there are going to be some onshore waves this weekend on the east coast with Wicklow forecast to have 2-3ft waves with the possibility of bigger but the winds are blowing direct onshore so I would expect the winds to blow the waves over and make them crumbly and probably not great for improvers but there may be the odd nugget for those super keen. Sunday looks like more of the same but probably only hitting 1-2ft blown over from the onshore winds.
South Coast
Tramore is looking like it is going to be small at 1-2ft with moderate cross shore winds making for bumpy conditions and small weak waves coming from the wrong direction for the bay. Sunday doesn’t look too bad with 2-3ft conditions with offshore winds all day which may make for some good longboard conditions.
South West
Winds are looking more favourable for Garretstown with 2-3ft conditions with the possibility of bigger from the 15 second period showing on Saturday with winds moderate to strong offshore. Sunday looks like nice small conditions with 2-3ft and cross offshore and much lighter winds than Saturday. Could be some nice peaks. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like it could have some nice offshore conditions with 3-4ft and building up to 4-6ft on sets with a good 14/15 second period. Winds are showing quite moderate to strong offshore but with land drag this should be a little less but offshore none the less. Sunday looks nicer again with lighter cross offshore winds and 4-5ft conditions all day.
West Coast
Lahinch is looking really nice for the weekend with small 2-3ft conditions for Saturday with moderate to strong offshore winds which will hopefully slow down with some land drag and make for nice longboard conditions. Sunday has a touch of north in the swell which may reduce down the size from the forecast 4-6ft down to 2-3ft conditions but with a good period may bring slightly bigger on sets and light to moderate offshore winds easing as the day goes on. Tides are high at 4:30 Saturday and 5:30 Sunday with quite large high tides so allow at least 2 hours to exit safely.
North West
Strandhill is looking a little small for Saturday with 2-3ft conditions for most of the day with the winds quite gusty with 15-30mph offshore all day with Sunday showing slightly better conditions with a nice 3-4ft waves with winds much lighter at 8-13mph offshore making for some really nice conditions. In the Bundoran area it is looking like a small Tullan day on Saturday with the waves peaking at 2ft with moderate to strong offshore winds all day. Sunday looks nicer with 3ft conditions and lighter offshore winds all day.
North Coast
The winds on the north coast are going to be the problem for East Strand and Whiterocks with West Strand being the only option all weekend as the winds are blowing from the east. Waves will probably be in the 2ft region with the odd bigger 3ft waves coming through on the bigger period sets on Saturday with the winds offshore making for nice clean conditions but not massive waves but good longboard fund and may even have some punchy waves at the Blackrocks end. Sunday sees it drop back to 1-2ft conditions with light offshore winds.
