East Coast

it is looking like conditions will be too small for waves on the east coast this weekend with very little swell coming up the channel and moderate offshore winds on Saturday blowing any swell out of sea.

South Coast

Tramore is looking like the waves will probably be too small on Saturday for anything other than foamies or kids as there is very little incoming swell. Sunday looks to have some incoming swell but the winds start nice and light offshore before turning moderate onshore for the remainder of the day. Waves should be in the 2-3ft range but bumpy from the onshore winds.

South West

Garretstown is looking small for Saturday with the waves only in the 1ft range with the winds moderate cross onshore from the west. Sunday looks to have a better chance of waves in the 3ft range but with the winds turning to have more south in the wind direction making for more onshore conditions for Sunday. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing a north swell incoming for Saturday with the winds from the north west also. This swell struggles to get into Inch and will therefore most likely be small to flat for Saturday morning building to maybe 2-3ft later on but this will be backed by the north west winds. Sunday is showing a direct south swell as the main swell which is also going to require some period to bend into the bay meaning 2-3ft conditions for the day but with moderate winds from the south.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking like a game of two halves with Saturday showing plenty of swell and onshore winds with Sunday then showing much less swell and offshore winds. In more detail, Sunday looks like the waves should be 4-6ft but this will be much smaller with the north west in the swell looking more like 2ft with moderate to strong onshore winds making for messy conditions. Sunday sees this north west swell drop further with only 2ft predicted but with the swell direction and wind strength I would be thinking this will be next to flat. Tides are high at 1pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday so leave up to 2 hours either side for safe entry and exit. On a positive note the conditions from Monday to Thursday look really really nice!

North West

Conditions in the north west look to be messy Saturday with the winds blowing from the north west making for onshore conditions for Strandhill, Enniscrone and Bundoran. Sunday however turns to a nice 3-4ft swell coming in on a north west trajectory that should make for 2-3ft conditions on Strandhill in the morning with the low period but this builds and could get up to 4ft later on. In the Bundoran area it could bring 2ft conditions for Tullan with the offshore winds picking up throughout the day so get on it early.

North Coast

for Portrush the conditions are moderate to strong onshore conditions for Saturday with 2-3ft waves making for messy onshore conditions all day. Sunday sees the winds turn offshore and build in strength throughout the day so I would get on east Strand early where the conditions are showing 2-3ft conditions with a small period with light onshore winds first thing but the swell is dropping so early doors is best.

East Coast

It is looking like Saturday is going to have waves this weekend with the morning starting off with 2ft conditions in Wicklow with the winds coming from the south meaning that if the winds blow overnight then the conditions should have 2ft with the winds currently forecast to bring 25-35mph winds turning more eastward as the day goes on. Sunday starts off with a wave but this very quickly drops back to 1ft later on so it’s a first light session and not much else on Sunday. With the low period and winds it will probably favour bigger boards and foamies.

South Coast

With the south that is in the winds for both Saturday and Sunday it is looking like the south coast is going to be messy white water only but the waves should be 3-4ft+ for both days over the weekend but the onshore winds are not going to make for any good surfing.

South West

Conditions in Garretstown are also looking onshore with more cross onshore for Saturday with 3-4ft+ conditions blown over from the onshore winds and Sunday showing the winds more direct onshore so again 4ft+ blown over conditions. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking cross offshore for Saturday but strong in the 35mph plus strength so not really good for surfing with the waves showing 2-3ft but with the strong winds I would give it a miss as there will be no shelter. On Sunday the winds are direct from the south with the winds being 20mph+ and the swell coming straight up into the bay with 5ft+ conditions but the southerly winds will make for bumpy peaks.

West Coast

Lahinch is looking like 2-3ft conditions for Saturday with cross shore winds for the majority of the beach with the south end having the most shelter but the winds are gusting quite strong up to 45mph at times making it hard to get into waves. Tides are high at 7am and pm so no going into the water until it’s dropped off the rocks and out of the water around the 4.30 mark on Saturday. Sunday sees the winds drop right back to single digits for most of the day after 9am which could bring some really nice conditions once it drops off the rocks after 10am and then you should have the waves all day until around 4.30 when you should be surfed out. Waves on the day should be 3-4ft with bigger sets depending on the period as it fluctuates from 10 seconds to 12 seconds throughout the day.

North West

Strandhill is not looking like it gets any of the swell coming in from the south due to the direction of the beach which means less than 1ft Saturday and 1ft+ on Sunday. In the Bundoran area is is looking similar with 1ft for Saturday with strong cross offshore winds but then Sunday picks up a little bigger in the period which could bring 2ft for Sunday with light breezes making for some longboard fun for Tullan.

North Coast

Portrush unfortunately does not look to get above 1ft for Saturday or Sunday with moderate to strong offshore winds meaning very little chance of waves for the Port.

East Coast

Saturday on the east coast is looking small to flat with light offshore winds. Sunday looks to bring some waves but this will get bigger throughout the day as the winds pick up with Sunday starting with 1-2ft waves building to 2-3ft and possibly bigger later as the winds pick up. This wind will make for a strong push on the swell to the north so care should be taken to ensure that you do not get pushed too far up the beach in Wicklow.

South Coast

It is looking very flat for Tramore on Saturday with very light winds before Sunday brings moderate to strong onshore conditions with small period waves made very messy by the onshore winds making for less than desirable conditions.

South West

Conditions around Garretstown are looking equally as messy with small 1-2ft waves for Saturday before the winds pick up in the evening and ruin things for Sunday with moderate to strong cross onshore conditions. Not recommended for surfing. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing swell that is actually heading away from the land meaning that there will be very little swell getting into the bay as the moderate to strong winds that have been blowing are not letting anything get in so expect 1ft at best with moderate to strong offshore winds for Sunday but these winds could also blow it flat.

West Coast

Lahinch is showing that the swells are coming from the north and not very big which are the two factors that will reduce down any size swell that may come into the beach. Saturday is showing small with light winds before Sunday brings small and moderate to strong cross offshore conditions so expect small to flat. Tides are high at 3pm on Saturday and closer to 4pm on Sunday but with very little swell or waves make sure you finish or start out for your walk on the beach 2 hours before or after high tide.

North West

There look to be some ok waves coming through to Strandhill on Saturday with the winds light cross onshore winds for the day but these should be light enough with 2-3ft waves but they are small period waves so expect the waves to only suit foamies or longboards. Sunday sees the waves drop a little to less than 2ft with light offshore winds first thing in the morning but these winds will pick up to 25mph so it could be a struggle to get into the small waves. In the Bundoran area it looks like the conditions will be small and onshore on Saturday with 2ft conditions with a very weak wave so really only for lessons or those keen. Sunday looks to drop back to 1-2ft with moderate to strong offshore winds all day making it very hard to surf.

North Coast

Portrush is showing some small waves first thing on Saturday morning with 1-2ft but these will only really suit Arcadia corner but the period is very small so it may only bring waves that crash on close out. The remainder of Saturday is small to flat and similar for Sunday. Winds on Saturday are moderate from the west so cross shore for East Strand and then from the south east on Sunday making it moderate to strong offshore with very little waves.

There is a small north swell that is going to come in for Saturday and Sunday on the east coast but this will only bring 1-2ft conditions at best and these will be smaller weaker waves with the 5 second period. This swell is being pushed down by northerly winds on Friday and Saturday that will make it feel a little cooler than mid-week with Sunday showing the winds drop a little versus Saturday.

South Coast

Conditions around Tramore are looking flat for the weekend with very little swell coming through at all but the northerly winds will mean offshore winds for both Saturday and Sunday.

South West

Garretstown is looking small to flat for the weekend with swell not getting much above 1ft with the northerly winds making for clean conditions but just not a lot of them. Waves might be ok for lessons or kids but not much else. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing marginal conditions with the swell forecast being below the minimum for waves in Inch so expect 1-2ft conditions for both days but as this is small I would expect the waves to be breaking near the shore with Saturday having a slightly better chance with the 11 and 10 second periods but foamies are the order for the small stuff.

West Coast

Conditions around Lahinch have been amazing all week but this looks to come to an end with the weekend dropping back to 1-2ft at best with offshore winds all weekend. Saturday starts off small around the 0.5-1ft with the best surfing looking to build in the afternoon but this will probably only peak around 1-2ft. Sunday sees the period drop a little so it’s looking like it won’t get much above 1ft for the day with offshore winds again. Tides are high at 8am and pm Saturday and closer to 9am and pm Sunday with the tides a little bigger so 2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

Strandhill is showing waves in the 1ft range for Saturday with a small period swell and light offshore winds but this will really only be for lessons or kids as the waves may only break on the shore. Sunday drops right back and will be small to flat with light offshore winds all day also. The north west has been pumping these last few days so this weekend sees the waves take a break with the Bundoran area only showing Tullan 1ft sized waves all weekend which will struggle to bring anything for improvers. Winds are light offshore all weekend.

North Coast

It’s a similar story around Portrush with the conditions showing a north easterly swell to be the main swell because the north westerly swell is so small but the combination of these will only bring 1ft waves for Saturday and probably smaller for Sunday.

East Coast

There may be some small waves in Wicklow over the weekend but these will be low period wind swell with the winds due to pick up over Saturday which may bring 1-2ft conditions Saturday with the winds moderate to strong from the south but be mindful of your position in the water as the south winds have a tendency to blow you northwards up the beach. The best swell looks to be Saturday late when the winds have been blowing all day with the winds and swell peaking around 6pm. Sunday looks to have some remaining winds which will mean that there could still be some hangover surf in the 1-2ft region early on but this will drop as the day goes on.

South Coast

Tramore is showing onshore conditions for the weekend with the southerly winds making for onshore wind swell waves in the 1-2ft blown over size with moderate to strong winds. Sunday looks to be more of the same with 1-2ft conditions and again blown over from the winds from the south. There is a small glimmer of the winds dropping off by evening on Sunday but as the winds have been onshore for many days, the waves are not going to clean up that quick and will also be very weak with that wind swell 5 second period.

South West

It is a similar story for Garretstown with moderate to strong onshore winds for Saturday and Sunday with 2-3ft waves with a small 5-7 second period meaning that it would be really only for foamies on Saturday with the onshore winds blowing the waves over. Sunday looks like the period jumps a little meaning that the onshores might not crumble the waves so much with 3ft conditions forecast with the winds dropping off on Sunday evening which will not make for clean waves but less onshore meaning they might stay open for a surf. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like the winds are going to ruin play on Saturday with the moderate to strong conditions making for onshore 3-4ft weak waves with lots of white water. Sunday sees the winds back off and bring some nicer 3-4ft conditions with a nicer period which may work for grovellers or bigger boards with light onshore conditions which while a good bit lighter than Saturday will not be 100% clean but they should make for more fun.

West Coast

Saturday is looking like the swell is going to be 2-3ft waves on the Saturday with the winds being cross onshore for the main direction of the beach with the winds gusting quite strong at times up to 35mph. With the centre of the beach facing south west this means that the conditions are going to be cross onshore meaning the only hope for a small bit of shelter will be at the south end of the beach but watch the tides at this end as the rocks can make it tricky for getting out with the tide high at 3pm meaning that you should be out of the water by 1pm. Sunday sees the period build and the winds drop but go more westerly meaning that the waves should have a little more punch to them with 3-4ft conditions and light onshore breezes of less than 10mph. Tides are high on Sunday at 4pm so make sure you are out of the water by 1.30pm at the latest as the tides are building.

North West

Conditions in Strandhill are looking tricky on the Saturday with the winds showing to gust to up to nearly 40mph with small period 2ft surf meaning messy conditions which will mean something similar for Tullan Strand. Sunday looks like a better day with 3-4ft conditions due to the larger 10 second period and light onshore winds for both Tullan and Strandhill. Rossnowlagh could have 2-3ft conditions with a light breeze onshore as it handles the onshore in the waves a little better.

North Coast

Portrush is showing small to flat conditions for Saturday with barely 1ft in swell coming through with Sunday having a little better 1-2ft conditions but the winds are offshore in the morning turning westerly soon after and then onshore by the afternoon but the wave size probably only suits bigger boards.

Conditions are looking small to flat for the weekend on the east coast with no swell coming along with light northerly winds Saturday and moderate northerly winds Sunday. Contact Brittas Bay Surf School for SUP lessons and tours.

South Coast

It is looking small to flat in Tramore for the weekend with SUP as the only options available. Give Tramore Surf and SUP a shout for SUP tours for the weekend. Winds are lightest on Saturday as it’s a bit blustery Sunday offshore.

South West

Garretstown is also looking flat for the weekend with little to no wind forecast for Saturday but moderate offshores for Sunday. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like there might be a small wave over the weekend but this will only be 1ft at best with northerly conditions meaning that it could well be flat if the swell doesn’t bend in. Winds are light northerly Saturday and moderate northerly Sunday.

West Coast

Lahinch is forecast to receive a northerly swell for the weekend which may mean that things are small to flat with the best chance of any swell being Saturday morning when the period is a good 10 seconds with really nice offshore winds. I would predict 1-2ft tomorrow morning with probably not much more than 1ft for the rest of the weekend until Sunday evening when another northerly swell pulses through but this will be when the tides is high so may not be surfable. Tides are high at 8am and pm Saturday and 9am and pm Sunday so leave at least 2 hours either side of high for safe access and exit. Saturday has light offshore winds which continue until Sunday lunchtime when the winds go more northerly and turn onshore.

North West

Conditions are looking like they should get to 2-3ft for Strandhill with light offshore winds first thing in the morning with the winds dropping to nothing before turning to breezes onshore by evening. The swell will drop all day so the earlier the better. Sunday starts with a smaller period but the winds are onshore for Sunday picking up throughout the day with waves in the 1-2ft range. In the Bundoran area conditions are looking small and clean for the weekend with 2-3ft conditions on the main peak on Tullan Strand with the rest of the beach offering 1-2ft. Sunday looks like Tullan will start with light onshores and only 1-2ft at best with the winds picking up throughout the day.

North Coast

Waves around Portrush are showing 1-2ft for Saturday with light breezes with these conditions favouring longer boards or foamies with Sunday showing moderate onshore winds with 1-2ft conditions growing throughout the day with the winds swell but the winds show they could hit 20mph onshore by evening so small clean stuff on Saturday is the order.

South Coast

It is also look small on the south coast with only waves less than 1ft with light onshore winds predicted so not much happening by way of waves so check in with Surf n Sup Tramore for SUP Tours around the bay.

South West

The waves in Garretstown are looking small for the weekend with 1-2ft for Saturday but with a really small period meaning that the waves will really only work for foamies or larger craft. Sunday could get up to 2ft with light cross onshore winds so not the best but still ok for foamies or longboards if you are keen. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like the swell is marginal for bringing any waves into the bay so expect 1-2ft conditions that may only break on the shore with Sunday showing a better chance of 2-3ft conditions with the winds blowing cross offshore from the south south east all weekend gusting at times.

West Coast

Conditions in Lahinch is showing that the swell is coming from the right angle but the period is pretty weak meaning only 1-2ft waves for Saturday with cross offshore winds for the south end of the beach. Sunday looks a little better but only slightly so I would expect more 2ft conditions for Sunday with light to moderate cross offshore winds again favouring that south end. Tides are high at 4.30 Saturday and after 5 Sunday so allow at least 2 hours either side for safe access and exit.

North West

In the Strandhill area it is looking like the conditions are going to be 1-2ft at best for Saturday with light to moderate offshore conditions with Sunday looking flat as the swell has quite a bit of south in it meaning that it won’t get into the likes of Strandhill or any of the north facing spots with probably only Tullan being the option but even this will only be 1ft for Sunday. Saturday could see 1-2ft for Tullan but more of the 1 than 2ft unless peak 1 is not too crowded. Winds are light offshore for the Bundoran area on both days. Rossnowlagh will probably only have ankle slappers for the weekend.

North Coast

So after a good weekend of waves last weekend in Portrush and a good welcome from the locals, and a few quid spend in Troggs, this weekend looks small to flat with very little for the improvers out there.

East Coast

There were some nice waves on the east coast during the week coming off the back of Storm Ernesto but calm is restored for now with Saturday looking small to flat with very little wind. Sunday looks to see the winds pick up with small 1-2ft waves on Sunday in Wicklow with the winds moderate to strong southerly winds so be careful of your position in the water.

South Coast

Tramore looks to start off with light winds on Saturday morning but this is coming off the back of moderate onshore winds for Friday so expect bumpy conditions for Saturday with waves in the 1-2 range before Sunday goes moderate onshore with messy walls of white water with 2-3ft waves blown over.

South West

It is looking like the cross shore conditions for Garretstown on Saturday will make for bumpy conditions with the conditions best in the morning before the winds pick up for the day with 3ft conditions for most of the day. The winds turn onshore for Sunday and gust up to 30mph making it messy and not really for anything other than lessons in the shallows. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking onshore for both Saturday and Sunday with 4-5ft messy conditions for Saturday and bigger again for Sunday so I would recommend to give it a miss.

West Coast

Lahinch Beach is showing onshore conditions for both days with the winds blowing from the West North West on Saturday and West South West on Sunday meaning no shelter to be had in either directions of wind. Saturday should have 3-4ft blown over conditions with Sunday showing 4ft+ blown over waves with the tides high at 9am and pm Saturday and closer to 10am Sunday so leave at least 2 hours either side to safely enter and exit the water.

North West

Winds are also the main story in the north west with the conditions showing onshore for both days with 3-4ft waves Saturday in Strandhill and 4ft+ for Sunday but the waves will looks smaller when the winds blow from behind. In the Bundoran area it looks onshore for both Saturday and Sunday with a small window of southerly winds on Sunday morning and while quite strong might offer a small window for possibly somewhere like Streedagh to offer a small 2-3ft wave for those keen. Any other times are only going to be onshore Rossnowlagh for those keen for a white water surf but no green waves on offer.

North Coast

Saturday in Portrush is looking like the winds are going to mess up West, East and Whiterocks but Sunday looks like the winds turn southerly over that side which may mean nice conditions for East Strand on Sunday with 3-4ft conditions and possibly bigger on sets with the 11 second period. The winds are showing quite gusty but with the land drag it could bring about some nice offshore conditions for the Port.

Surf on the east coast is looking small to flat for the weekend with very little swell coming up the east coast with moderate southerly winds.

South Coast

Tramore is looking like the winds are going to be the driver of the waves on the south coast with very little power in the waves so really only suiting beginners or kids. Waves should be in the 1ft range Saturday and 0-1ft Sunday with winds in the 10-15mph onshore range.

South West

The winds are also going to be driver behind the waves in Garretstown with the onshore winds from Friday bringing bumpy conditions for Saturday with waves in the 2ft range blown over by the light onshore winds with Sunday showing smaller 1-2ft waves with the winds coming from the south east making for cross shore bumpy conditions and small. Inch Beach in Kerry is looking like the winds are light to moderate onshore for most of the day on Saturday but drops off by the evening so could have some nice 4ft + conditions on Saturday evening with nice light winds. Sunday looks to start off cross offshore but this looks moderate and building throughout the day making for cross shore bumpy conditions with 2-3ft conditions.

West Coast

Lahinch is showing some northerly touches in the swell on Saturday which will knock a little bit of the size out of the forecast 4-5ft making it look more like 3ft Saturday with a good punch to the wave. The only problem is the onshore winds all day Friday and into Saturday going through until the evening when it drops off. Sunday looks to start with an offshore wind first thing and then turning to cross offshore which could bring a bumpiness to it but first thing could be the best shout with the waves in the 2-3ft region but nice and clean first thing. Tides are high at 9.30 Saturday and after 10 Sunday so if you are getting in Sunday morning you need to be out just after 8am so an early start is required.

North West

Strandhill is looking like it could start off nice in the morning but the winds very quickly go onshore and stay onshore until Sunday morning. Waves should be in the 4-5ft region but bumpy and messy with the onshore winds with Sunday looking to start off with a 3-4ft wave with light offshore winds first thing before turning slightly cross offshore for the rest of the day with the swell dropping with 1-2ft later on. In the Bundoran area, everywhere is onshore Saturday with the winds coming from the South West first thing and then west for the rest of the day. Sunday looks to start off small and offshore but spots like Tullan could be 2-3ft and bigger on peak 1 with those offshore winds picking up throughout the day as the swell drops so get on it early when the winds are nice and light.

North Coast

Saturday is looking like it starts nice for East Strand with the swell showing 2-3ft and offshore for East Strand but this very quickly turns moderate to strong cross shore for East Strand and onshore for West Strand. Sunday starts off with very little wind and should have 2ft conditions on East Strand with light offshore winds and then picking up thereafter but staying offshore for East and Whiterocks but the size will probably not get above 2ft for the day.
