Surf Report for the weekend of the 10th and 11th
East Coast
It is looking like there is a bit of swell coming through for the east coast coming from a swell from the north for Saturday which should bring some 2ft waves for Wicklow with winds light onshore which should have very little impact on the waves. This north swell is then taken over by a southerly swell which kicks in but this should still only max out at 2ft as it is not massive but has a good 11 second period. Sunday is showing that the swell drops off to be too small for any waves on the East Coast
South Coast
Tramore looked like it had good sized waves and relatively clean today (Friday) but Saturday is showing that the good sized waves will continue but the winds are looking to blow from the east and south east which will give cross shore conditions to most spots so may make for some bumpy conditions. Waves should be in the 4-5ft range with the best winds in the late afternoon. Sunday is showing smaller 2ft conditions with winds blowing from the west making for more cross shore conditions and gusting strong at times.
South West
It is looking quite chunky for Garretstown Saturday with the swell showing 8-12ft surf but I think this will be more like 5-6ft surf with the winds starting light onshore but coming off the back of onshore conditions all day Friday the waves will probably not be so clean until the offshore winds start to blow later in the day around lunch time and thereafter. Sunday sees the winds blow from the west which will make for messy 3-4ft conditions but mostly blown over white water. Inch Beach in Kerry is showing some messy conditions for Friday that will continue into Saturday with winds blowing from the north which may have a good bit of shelter so if you are in the area it could be worth a look. Conditions say 6-10ft but I reckon it should be more in the 5-6ft conditions with the odd bigger sets from the 13 second period. Sunday shows the winds blow onshore from the west so it will be messy white water conditions so make the most of Saturday.
West Coast
Conditions in Lahinch look nice for the morning with the winds blowing from the north west which should bring some nice offshore conditions for most of the day. Waves should be in the 3-4ft range with the winds dropping all day but the swell also drops so get on it early. The high tide for Saturday is at 5:30pm and it is a big high tide so out of the water by 2:30-3pm to allow for safe exit. Sunday sees the winds go onshore and messy conditions so make the most of the Saturday as Sunday looks messy.
North West
Conditions in Strandhill are looking small to flat for Saturday with only a small amount of the north swell getting in with light offshore breezes with the best chance of waves later in the day when the swell peaks at 1.5ft @ 11 seconds which may bring a small 2ft longboard wave at best. With the north in the swell Enniscrone could fare better with 2-3ft conditions early on with light offshore breezes but as this is only a 9 second swell expect small weak sets with not a whole lot of push behind them. Sunday sees everywhere impacted by the westerly winds making it messy in all spots. In the Bundoran area you are talking about a small 1ft day on Tullan Strand with the possibility of closer to 2ft as the tide gets lower with light offshore breezes. It will be too small for Rossnowlagh or Streedagh with Sunday turning poor in all spots with the west winds leaving no shelters for anywhere.
North Coast
After their epic run of swell in Portrush it is looking like the weekend will bring small to flat conditions for all spots for both days with the best chance of any waves being. Sunday afternoon into evening when East Strand could have a cross shore 2-3ft.
